All eyes on Chryzquin Yu

She sings. She raps. She dances. She models, acts and hosts. She’s also a decorated dancesport athlete and beauty queen. Blvck Entertainment Production Inc.’s newest solo artist, Chryzquin Yu, is the definition of a total performer — and she does it all beautifully.

Now signed under Blvck Entertainment and Blvck Music, Chryzquin is quickly emerging as a dynamic presence in the entertainment scene. Her journey began at a young age, gaining national exposure through a series of competitive talent shows. She first appeared on TV5’s “Talentadong Pinoy Kids”, followed by stints on ABS-CBN’s “Dance Kids,” “Your Moment,” “Eat Bulaga’s Bida Next,” “World of Dance PH” and “Girl on Fire” on “It’s Showtime.”

Her career took a decisive turn when she became a pre-debut member of Blvck Flowers, where she held the dual roles of lead rapper and main dancer. That chapter, she says, cemented her commitment to the craft.

“When we were performing as Blvck Flowers in Iloilo, the crowd cheered for us even though it was their first time seeing us live. That moment made me realize how much I love singing and dancing. Blvck Entertainment really gave me the confidence to chase what I love,” she shared.

In addition to her music career, Chryzquin has also dipped her toes into acting.

“I’ve done some acting in the past,” she says. “I was in the film ‘Ang Taba Ko Kasi’ as Cai Cortez’s sister and appeared in teleseryes like ‘Daldalita’ and ‘Ikaw ay Pag-Ibig.’ Now that Blvck is producing movies, I’m auditioning for roles and looking forward to growing even more in that space.”

At the heart of her journey is the support of Blvck Entertainment founders, Engineers Louie and Grace Cristobal, whom Chryzquin considers her second family.

“They’re like my second parents. They’ve really taken care of me and helped me grow — not just as an artist but as a person. They always remind me that it’s not just about being beautiful or performing — it’s about keeping your feet on the ground.”

Although her official debut was delayed due to health reasons, Chryzquin used the time to reflect and recover. Now, she’s back in training, stronger and more focused.

Recognition hasn’t been far behind. She was awarded Best Rapper at the 2023 KPOP Static Cover Artist Awards and named “Star of the Night” at the 2023 PPOP Awards. Alongside her musical pursuits, she maintains a successful modeling career and continues to earn accolades as a competitive dancesport athlete. Remarkably, she manages all this while pursuing her university studies at University of Santo Tomas.

Now, she’s officially stepping into the spotlight with her debut single “’Di Na,” featuring Jake Piedad. Released under Blvck Music, the track is now streaming on major platforms. Hypnotic and undeniably danceable, the music video, directed by Louie Ong, is also out on YouTube. The project was made possible by Alkaviva Waters Philippines, GLC Infinite Waters International Co., Grace Electronics Philippines, Blue Green Dragon Marketing, LG Realty Development, Bear Dots and Blvck Creatives Studio.
