Alfred Vargas expressed gratitude to Quezon City’s District 5 for what he called a “double victory” as both he and his brother, Congressman PM Vargas, were proclaimed winners in the recent elections.
In an Instagram post set to Queen’s We Are the Champions, Alfred shared campaign moments and their proclamation alongside Mayor Joy Belmonte. “Doble-dobleng pasasalamat sa lahat ng ating kababayan para dito sa ating double victory sa District V!” he wrote.
Alfred said he will prioritize education in his new term. “Starting this July, we will start rolling out our ‘Alagang Vargas Scholarship Program 2.0, level up!’… Isang pamilya, may isang iskolar,” he said, adding that over 20,000 scholars have already graduated through the program.
He acknowledged the challenges of the campaign, citing fake news and personal attacks. “Sa gitna ng napakaraming paninira… nanindigan para sa prinsipyo at tunay na serbisyo,” he said, also praising PM Vargas for being a sincere public servant.
Alfred ended his message by thanking his constituents and family, especially his wife and four children, for their support. “I have achieved so much because my wife and children supported me and for that, I am immensely grateful.”
