In the Easter Sunday, April 9 episode of “Cayetano in Action with Boy Abunda,” (CIA with BA) Senator Alan Peter Cayetano could not help but express how he felt after hearing the issues of complainants about their rights to their children.
Together with his sister Senator Pia and “King of Talk” Boy Abunda, they took on two cases: a grandfather who complained about his son-in-law who tried to sell his grandchild, and a couple who lost the child they cared for for thirteen years when the real parents took the child back without regard for their rights.
“[Y’ung] mga sama ng loob, mararamdaman mo talaga,” Senator Alan shared. “Mag-game show na lang tayo, Kuya Boy,” he added as he tried to lighten the mood.
Abunda agreed, saying, he didn’t realize “how difficult it is until you really hear the stories.”
Senator Alan said while they always shoot for “win-win” solutions, “May mga pagkakataon talaga na may masasaktan. And katulad nito, ‘di ba kapag pamilya na ang pinag-uusapan, anak na ang pinag-uusapan, mabigat talaga? But we’re hoping that this show will help others be guided.”
“Cayetano in Action with Boy Abunda,” which aired its pilot episode on February 5, marks Senator Alan Peter and Senator Pia’s debut outing as on-air legal advisers.
Aired every Sunday at 11:30 p.m. on GMA 7, CIA with BA aims to help viewers learn more about the country’s laws and how they affect their daily lives. This Sunday, April 16, the program takes on the issue of debt.
With the weekly program, Senators Alan and Pia carry on the legacy of their late father and original “Compañero” of the airwaves, Senator Rene Cayetano, who led and co-hosted the popular legal advice program “Compañero y Compañera” on radio and television from 1997 to 2001.
