The 8th The EDDYS (Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards), organized by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), is set for July 2025.
This annual event honors the best in Philippine cinema, including films, actors and key industry figures. Fourteen acting and technical awards will be given, chosen from 2024 theatrical and digital releases.
A highlight of the evening is the tribute to a new batch of EDDYS Icons — veteran actors, directors and creatives who have made lasting contributions to local film.
Special awards include the Isah V. Red Award, Joe Quirino Award, and Manny Pichel Award, as well as honors for the Rising Producer and Producer of the Year.
SPEEd will also recognize this year’s Box Office Heroes, lead stars from the highest-grossing local films that helped revive moviegoing in the country.
SPEEd is composed of current and former entertainment editors from top Philippine newspapers and online platforms.
