In 1983, David Pomeranz received a call from a Filipino concert producer about having a concert in the Philippines.

It was a most unexpected call as the singer-songwriter did not have any idea just how large a following he had in a country thousands of miles away from the USA. But he said yes, and off he went to Manila. Thus began his love affair with Pinoys.
“It has been literally 40 years since I got here. I was invited in 1983 to sing at the Folk Arts Theater, with Stephen Bishop and Michael Johnson, and we all fell in love,” he said.
Pomeranz would return again and again for shows, recordings, guest appearances and collaborations with Filipino artists, such as Sharon Cuneta and Lea Salonga, among others.
And now, 40 years later, he is back for a concert series called “Coming Home with David Pomeranz 40th Anniversary Concert Tour.”
The concert series brings David to Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao for a total of 11 shows.
The seasoned performer is expected to serenade Filipinos with his beloved songs such as “Got to Believe in Magic,” “King and Queen of Hearts,” “If You Walked Away,” “Born for You,” among many other hits.
The “Coming Home Tour” will kick off at the KCC Convention Center in Zamboanga on December 3, Limketkai Mall in Cagayan de Oro on December 4, Panpacifc University Events Center on December 5, Albay Astrodome on December 10, Calpaan City Convention Center on December 12, Mango Grove at the South on December 13, Tacloban City on Dec. 15, Calbayog City Sports Center on December 17, and Iloilo Convention Center on December 19.
He will also perform on Dec. 8 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater with Vina Morales and Summit Hotel in Tacloban on December 15.
“I’m really excited about coming to tour the Philippines this December to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the first time I ever played there in 1983, ” David said. “This is an especially meaningful event for me because it also marks the beginning of a relationship with these wonderful people which serves as an unendingly blessed source of joy for me and my family to this day.”
