THE Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved the creation of 175 faculty positions for the Mindanao State University (MSU) System to strengthen education and human capital development in Mindanao.
Of the 175 new faculty positions, 75 are for Instructor I positions, which will augment the need for teachers in the 12 secondary schools within the MSU System.
The Notice of Organization, Staffing, and Compensation Action authorizing these positions has been issued, with an estimated Personnel Services (PS) requirement of P39.217 million.
“We are not only simply filling the staffing gaps in MSU, but elevating the quality of education across the region so that our students have access to top-tier learning opportunities,” Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said.
The newly created Instructor I positions will provide opportunities for aspiring educators across the MSU campuses.
The DBM has also authorized the creation of 100 faculty plantilla positions, specifically Assistant Professor IV, for MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology with an estimated PS of P81.11 million.
The creation of the positions will address the immediate need for qualified faculty at this level given the significant increase in enrollment and academic programs of the University.
