The actress-politician said she is happy serving her constituents in Lipa.

VILMA SANTOS

No” was the quick answer of “Star for All Seasons” and incumbent Lipa Congresswoman Vilma Santos-Recto to the question of whether she is running for higher office in the coming elections.

We heard she is being enticed to run for vice president as she will be a sure winner.

However, the actress-politician reportedly said, “Happy ako with my current position now.

Kaya let me focus on it muna.”

She will not speak for her husband, Senator Ralph Recto, who is currently the Senate President pro tempore.

Between Ate Vi and Senator Ralph, it’s the latter who has politics running in his veins because his grandfather is the late revered statesman Claro M. Recto, who is known for his “Filipino-first” movement.

Of course, the “Filipino First Policy” was championed during the administration of President Carlo P. Garcia, the fourth president of the Republic of the Philippines.

Senator Bong Revilla said his son, Jolo Revilla, the current vice governor of Cavite, might run for congress under the Agimat Partylist.

Jolo, the second son of Senator Bong and Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado, is 33 years old. He married former beauty queen Angelica Alita on December 16, 2019 in California.

Vice Jolo has a teenage son, Gabriel, with the daughter of actress Rosanna Roces, Grace.

Meanwhile, Senator Bong said he has no plans of running for re-election and might concentrate on his showbiz career.

He is impressed with the high ratings of his ongoing action series, “Agimat ng Agila,” on GMA 7.

“Pati mga bata kilala ako at tinatawag akong Gabriel (his name in the series),” he said with a smile.

“Agimat ng Agila” pairs him with Sanya Lopez, whom he thinks will go far as an actress.

Sanya is also Gabby Concepcion’s leading lady in GMA’s primetime series, “First Yaya.”

Asked if Lani has plans to run for re-election, Senator Bong replied: “Dapat siguro siya ang sumagot sa tanong ninyong iyan.”

Happily settled in the US is another comedienne, Rufa Mae Quinto.

Ruffa Mae is married to Trevor Magallanes, with whom she has a daughter.

“Gusto niyang mag-artista rin,” Rufa Mae said of their four-year-old daughter, Alexandria Athena.

When Rufa Mae marked her 43rd birthday last May 28, guess what Trevor gave her?

“A car,” she enthused.

Rufa Mae and Trevor have a nine-year gap.

They are happy together. And that’s what matters, said Rufa Mae.

Does she miss showbiz? After all, before her marriage, she was an in-demand comedienne.

“I do,” she replied. “Pero, gusto ko rin ng buhay na tahimik. Tulad ng ini-enjoy ko ngayon.”

Friends close to both Yayo Aguila and her former husband, William Martinez, ask if there is a chance for them to rekindle their love.

It has been many years since they separated. And they seem unattached.

The ex-couple share four children.

Yayo remains visible despite the current pandemic, while William admits he is badly in need of work. He is hoping his elder brother, actor Albert Martinez, will be able to help him.

Albert is back as a Kapuso and will soon be seen in “Las Hermanas” with Thea Tolentino and Yasmien Kurdi and Jennica Garcia.

Jennica, the daughter of actress Jean Garcia, is now separated from actor Alwyn Uytingco, with whom she has two kids.

By the way, Jennica is also a host in the recently launched channel, One PH.
