After their super successful teamup in “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” Barbie Forteza and David Licauco are paired in “Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko” this Sunday.
The love team will bring kilig and impart life lessons in the four-week special titled “Lady and Luke” beginning March 12.
“Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko: Lady and Luke” follows the story of Lady (Barbie) and her sister Sabrina (Zonia) who are complete opposites. Lady is the responsible one who tends to be controlling with her younger sibling who is a happy-go-lucky girl. Sabrina resents the way her sister meddles with her life and compares Lady to a puppeteer.

He included new scares for his new horror film starring Aljur Abrenica and Ritz Azul.
Topel Lee
With how “Deleter” fared in the box office, director Topel Lee feels upbeat about his latest horror movie, “Jeongbu,” produced by new player MJ Gutierrez.
Unfortunately, he said they “forgot” to enter the movie to the summer Metro Manila Film Festival, but he is hoping his producer, MJ Gutierrez, finds a way to get a playdate for their movie “Jeongbu,” with Aljur Abrenica and Ritz Azul.
“Sayang nga hindi namin napasok,” he said. “Mahirap sa MMFF Christmas kasi minsan maraming horror na kasama.”
“Jeongbu,” shot in the middle of the pandemic in Baguio, sounds novel as it is a Korean term.
“There’s one character in the movie na Korean who was telling the other characters that there’s another entity, ‘Jeongbu,’ na according to Google means mistress,” said Direk Topel.
The shooting, which took ten days, was a breeze as Direk Topel had previously worked together with Aljur.
“Madali naman nakuha si Aljur. I told them to tell him that I was the one directing. Comfortable kami sa isa’t isa. We were able to make the movie really nice and new kahit konti ang cast and we added a lot of new scares. That’s what’s interesting about ‘Jeongbu.’
“Hopefully sana may plans na on how to release it so we can show it in moviehouses.”
The director of “Oiuja,” “Tomboy, “Amorosa,” said he injected new elements in the film that makes it different from his previous horror projects.
“J Drama media nakatayo lang. Medya ganun ito but I try to look for ways na hindi na siya scary… Lately yung ghost stands sa pointuan hindi na scary,” he said. “Dito I added few computer graphics to make it dynamic, otherwise, hindi ko ma a-achieve ang shots. Marami kaming bago.”
Baguio, being a favorite location for horror mysteries, added to the mood of the film. Thankfully, there were no scary incidents, except for some busted lights, during the shoot, added Direk Topel.
“Fortunately wala, Kasi matatakutin ako,” he revealed with a chuckle.
