It was one pleasant day to remember.

Yes, our recent virtual meeting with some fellow entertainment writers and reporters, with former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, who is running for senator anew in the coming elections.

“Nakakamiss tayo,” said Senator Jinggoy, while taking a look at all those present, “How long ago was it when we last had the chance to meet face-to-face?” he added.

“Kung sabagay,” he continued. “Looking at each other now, wala namang nabago masyado sa atin personally. In my case, lalo,” he said with a laugh. “I may have gained weight a little, pero sabi ng mga anak ko, guwapo pa rin daw ako.

“And I believe them. I hope you all agree.”

He has big plans should he win — and he really hopes he does.

“Awa naman ng Diyos, lahat ng mga ipinangako ko, tinutupad ko. This time, I promise to work harder,” he said.

Most fans of actress-politician Vilma Santos are not necessarily followers of Vice President Leni Robredo. But they admire her, and they agree she could make a good president.

But they have their own candidate for president, just like Rep. Vilma Santos and her husband, Senator Ralphy Recto?

They support Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and think Mayor Isko will make a good president.

They actually don’t know Mayor Isko well. “Based lang sa mga nababasa at naririnig namin tungkol sa kanya, kung bakit feel naming he will make a good replacement for President Duterte,” Ate Vi reportedly said.

Ate Vi is not running this year. It is Senator Ralph, who is in his third term as senator, who is running as Lipa City representative.

The actress-politician might just return to the entertainment scene, not necessarily as an actress but as a director and producer.

Well, good luck, Ate Vi.

Comedienne Pokwang is a favorite of bashers. She hates it when she is accused of being a paid supporter of a particular candidate.

This early, Pokwang said, she knows who she wants to support for — and she is not being paid.

“Iniisip ko lagi ang kinabukasan ng aking mga anak,” she said, “Ang importante sa akin, mahuhusay at tapat ang mamahala ng gobyernong mamanahin nila sa atin.”

Pokwang remains very active in showbiz.

“I’m glad I’m doing well in the business. Hindi ko kailangan makiusap para magkatrabaho,” said the actress, who is in “Pepito Manaloto,” “Bubble Gang” and “Studio 7.”

How does Perla Bautista, now in her 80s, defy ageing? And what does she feel whenever she is told she doesn’t look her age?

“Of course, natutuwa ako kapag sinabi ko kung ilang taon na ako at ayaw maniwala ng kausap ko,” Perla said.

Perla has a son and two grandchildren. Her current husband is much younger than she is.

“Malaking tulong din siguro that I’m a vegetarian. Well, influenced by my husband na mahilig sa pagkaing gulay,” she revealed. “And because of him, I love yoga, running and walking around. Bihira akong magkotse.

“At nakakatulong din na nagkakatrabaho pa ako. At my age,” she added.
