Is Iza Calzado returning to the “Darna” TV series?
It can be recalled that the actress played the “Unang Darna” in “Mars Ravelo’s Darna.” Iza is Leonor Custodio, the mother of Jane de Leon’s Narda. However, in a fierce battle, she got hit by a powerful ray gun and was obliterated.
But, of course, since Darna is a superhero, we won’t be surprised if the character stages a comeback. It’s a fantasy series, after all.
Just recently, Iza returned to the set and brought food to share with the series’ cast and crew.
“Darna” airs weeknights at 8 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, CineMo, A2Z, and TV5. The ABS-CBN series produced by JRB Creative Production is also available on iWantTFC and The Filipino Channel.

Heart and Chiz are indeed separated — geographically, that is.
Seven-year itch?
Heart Evangelista and Sen. Chiz Escudero have remained silent despite the many reports saying their marriage is on the rocks.
The couple are, well, separated — geographically, that is. Currently, Heart is in Paris — and based on her vlog — alone. Sen. Chiz, of course, is busy with his work in the senate.
Clues that everything is not OK between the two were first noticed on Heart’s social media account and the couple’s body language during their last appearance together. Heart dropped Escudero from her Instagram handle. And there was no sweet message, no greeting posted by Heart during Chiz’ 53rd birthday last October 10.
Heart and Chiz tied the knot seven years ago, on February 15, 2015 at the Balesin Island Club in Quezon Province. They even flew to the island to mark their last anniversary.
Well, you know what they say about couples who reach their seventh year together? Referred as seven-year itch, it is presumably the decline of affection between couples who reach that stage.
Too bad if it’s true that Chiz and Heart are undergoing marital turmoil. We only hope that would be able to surmount it — with their marriage intact.

“Becoming Ice” was a truly wonderful production that sent the audience on a hearwarming musical journey.
Ice Seguerra’s 35th anniversary concert last Saturday, October 15, at The Theater at Solaire is one of the best local shows in recent history.
The repertoire was divine. And there was a barrage of talents — Vic Sotto, Chito Miranda, Juris, Princess Velasco, Sitti, Tres Marias of Cooky Chua, Bayang Barrios and Lolita Carbon, Maneouvres and Gary V. (on video), Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez.
But the true star of the show remains to be singer, songwriter, director Ice Seguerra. Ice performed “As If We Never Said Good-bye,” “Somewhere Out There” with Vic, “Sun and Moon” with Martin, “Minsan ang Minahal ay Ako,” “Hataw Na” with Gary, “Alapaap” with Chito, “Paglisan” with the Tres Marias, “Tanging Mahal” with Regine, among others.
From being an “Ice Cube” — Martin’s term — Ice has become an iceberg of talent, who surely has a lot more music and talent that has yet to be revealed to the public.
