After starring in three consecutive hit shows, “Agimat ng Agila,” “First Yaya” and “First Lady,” the Kapuso star is now trying her hand at singing.
She has recently released her first single under GMA Music, “Hot Maria Clara.”
And Sanya’s career is indeed hot.
A former part of German Moreno’s “Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman,” Sanya is now considered as one of Sparkle’s most prized talents. In just a short time, she has been enjoying an enviable career. She has been paired with some of the top Kapuso leading men, such as Sen. Bong Revilla and Gabby Concepcion.
Her single “Hot Maria Clara” is an upbeat number that is about women empowerment.
“Ang message nito is kung paano maging empowered ang isang babae at kung paano niya kakayanin ang mga pagsubok hindi lang sa pag-ibig kundi sa buhay rin in general.”
“Hot Maria Clara” is composed by Njel de Mesa and is considered a fulfillment of Sanya’s dream.
“Excited and sobrang saya sa bagong opportunity na binigay sa akin ng GMA. Iba rin kasi ang feeling kapag recording naman ang gagawin mo. Lalo na sa singing na isa sa mga love kong gawin. Noong first time na marinig ko ang song, nagustuhan ko na ito.”
Sanya’s single debuted at the third spot on the iTunes chart and was included in Spotify’s Fresh Finds Philippines playlist.

The Parañaque resident outshone her fellow grand finalists after earning the highest total combined score of 97.7% for her answer that women today do not have to follow a set of beauty standards and they have their own definition of beauty.
“Siguro ang dapat matutunan ng inyong henerasyon sa ngayong image of beauty is there are no standards anymore. Just be secured with yourself and that’s when you know na hindi mo kailangan tumingin sa kakulangan ng iba para maging secure ka,” she said.
Sam won P500,000, a negosyo package worth P150,000 from Seoul Sahara, and a jewelry package worth P100,000 from Manila Diamond Studio.
