Lately, she’s been the subject of many rumors saying she’s already gotten married to senatorial aspirant Herbert Bautista and pregnant with twins. “I know so many titos and tita made me their favorite topic at parties and dinner table. Rhen Escaño has been doing a string of sexy films for Vivamax like “The Other Wife,” “Paraluman” and the lesbian series, “Lulu.” But in “Rooftop,” now showing exclusively in SM theaters, she doesn’t get to do any disrobing at all.

“Yes, mananakot naman kami rito,” she says. “Ryza Cenon, Marco Gumabao, Ella Cruz and Marco Gallo play students who accidentally kill someone while they’re having fun in their school’s rooftop. Our victim, Epy Quizon, returns to haunt and take revenge on each of us.”
“Rooftop” is written, directed and photographed by Yam Laranas, who’s well known for hit horror flicks like “Sigaw,” “The Road” and “Aurora.” So how is it working with him?

‘I’ve worked with Direk Yam sa ‘Paraluman’ which is more of drama. Mas kilala siya talaga sa horror at ito talaga ang genre niya. First horror film ko naman ito and I’m glad na sa first horror project ko, siya ang director ko kasi tinulungan niya talaga ako. We’re all lucky na siya ang director namin dito.”

If “Rooftop” has a message for the viewer, what would it be? “The movie is also about friendship in a barkada at ang nangyari sa amin, parang may test for us: what are you willing to do for your friends kapag nalagay kayo in danger? Magpapaka-selfish ka ba or you’ll work as a team na walang iwanan para maging solid ang samahan nyo?”

The most prolific Vivamax director is Roman Perez Jr. Following the success of his movies “Taya,” “The Housemaid,” “House Tour,” “Siklo,” “Hugas,” and the ongoing hit series, “Iskandalo,” he now serves us an extra spicy original movie this May, “Putahe.” This stars Ayanna Misola, star of “#Pornstar 2: Pangalawang Putok,” “Kinsenas, Katapusan” and “Iskandalo.”

In “Putahe,” Ayanna plays Jenny, an island girl who has big plans for herself and her family. A city girl arrives in the island, Euka, played by beauty queen Janelle Tee (Miss Philippines Earth 2019). Euka is an expert in the culinary arts and puts up a small restaurant. Jenny follows Euka around as she wants to learn how to cook and also put up her own business.

Euka finally catches her attention and she obliges to give Jenny some cooking lessons… and more. She sheds her mysterious aura and reveals her wild, seductive side as she also gives Jenny sex lessons that she will never forget.

Did Ayanna have any limitations in shooting the sex scenes in the film? “No limitations po,” she says. “Lalo na sa girl to girl scenes with Ate Janelle. Kasi mas okay ako kapag babae ang kapartner ko. Hindi naman ako nahirapan sa love scenes. Mas challenging for me ang conditions sa island kasi virgin island siya. Walang kuryente, tapos limited ang fresh water kaya sa paliligo namin, we only swim sa dagat kaya mahirap ding maging fresh sa island.”

“Putahe” also stars willing and able newcomers Hershey de Leon, Massimo Scoffield, Nathan Cajucom and Chad Solano. They are supported by senior stars Mon Confiado, Ronnie Lazaro, Shirley Fuentes and Carlene Aguilar. It opens on Vivamax on May 13.
