‘The Senate impeachment court clearly provides for political neutrality as one major rule…’
THE 18 eighteen senators who shamelessly voted for the Articles of Impeachment to be remanded to the House of Representatives have stamped the 19th Congress with a historical notoriety. They will, in all probability, also ignore mounting calls for them to inhibit themselves from the impeachment trial because of their openly-manifested bias for Vice President Sarah Duterte. The Senate impeachment court clearly provides for political neutrality as one major rule which would predictably be thrown out of the window.
Sen. Bato dela Rosa has exposed his ignorance of basic impeachment rules of trial proceedings when he filed a motion to dismiss the impeachment case against Duterte, and Senate President Chiz Escudero accepted quite brazenly the patently improper, if not illegal, act by endorsing the motion and calling for a vote. Re-elected Sen. Ping Lacson and former Constitution framer Christian Monsod promptly slammed the former PNP chief during the Duterte administration.
Dela Rosa’s deep partisan loyalty to the Dutertes have apparently loosened his spiritual moorings when he claimed the guidance of the Holy Spirit in his decision. Unless he meant another spirit, he should leave the divine Holy Spirit alone, which Our Lord Jesus left with us to manifest to the world the real truths of His teachings, as well as to empower us to become upright, compassionate, merciful, kind and forgiving children of His Kingdom.
Or would Dela Rosa try to invoke, God forbid, and disgrace the same “Holy Spirit” in his direct supervision of the brutal drug war that claimed the lives of more than 20,000, mostly suspected drug users and pushers.

The Head Pastor of Live in Victory (LIV) Ministries (Ortigas Center,), Manny Manansala, has stressed the crucial need for Christians to fully invoke the power of the Holy Spirit as Christ has taught us. The gifts of healings, miracles, prophecy and knowledge are among the manifestations of the powerful Holy Spirit, and yet countless Christians would rather be complacent and idle in their Christian walk instead of engaging in these mighty works of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Manansala explains that “faith is what you believe and fruitfulness is what you do with what you believe. Faith is also believing that God will do what He said He will do no matter what.” He mentions US healing Evangelist Todd White who was not deterred in his mission by a huge setback of failing to heal the first 500 people he prayed for. The healings started to come with the miraculous healing of the 501st patient, and rapidly increasing to nearly a thousand three years ago in the US, Mexico, and South America
From Jesam Obono’s FB post : “The Most Chilling Prediction of All : On February 2, 1905 Ayn Rand, a prominent figure in American literature and philosophy, made a striking and unsettling prediction about the state of society:” ‘When you notice that in order to produce, you must obtain permission from those who have nothing, when you see that money flows to those who deal not in goods but in favors, when you realize that many get rich through bribery and influence rather than through work, and that the laws no longer protect you against them. but instead, they are protected from you; when you discover that corruption is rewarded and honesty becomes a form of self-sacrifice, then you can confidently say, without fear of being wrong, that your society is doomed.’
