No serious issues

UNLIKE the perilous times under the Cory Aquino government when many in the military were demoralized by the President sympathizing with leftist groups and appointing their leaders in her Cabinet, the military today is not bogged down by any serious issues directly affecting its ranks. Aquino’s grievous mistake then was ignoring the military leadership in trying to resolve the leftist insurgency, only to be eventually outsmarted openly by the CPP/NDF.

It was too late when she realized that cooperating with her government did not mean cooperating with the military and police, many of whom suddenly became easy and fatal targets of NPA ambushes in Metro Manila and in the provinces.

‘The retired military officials mentioned in AFP Chief Gen. Romeo Brawner’s warning of a reported destabilization plot against the Marcos administration are mostly former generals and alumni of the Philippine Military Academy.’

Her political amnesty pardoning and releasing from prison some 300 insurgents, including CPP Chair Jose Maria Sison, triggered a renewed aggression by the NPA against the military and police. Aquino practically played into their hands when she was convinced the rebel leaders would not try to bring down her government while she was President, ignoring the avowed seething goal of the CPP/NDF, which was to destroy the status quo to put up their own system of government.

The retired military officials mentioned in AFP Chief Gen. Romeo Brawner’s warning of a reported destabilization plot against the Marcos administration are mostly former generals and alumni of the Philippine Military Academy. About 150 of them are allegedly behind the move spearheaded by Major General (Ret.) Eliseo Rio, former head of the Department of Information and Technology, to file impeachment raps against top Comelec officials for allegedly carrying out massive electoral fraud in the last national and local elections, a major breach of public trust demolishing their sworn constitutional obligation to the people. Many in the lower military ranks reportedly do not seem aware of the real issues.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte pampering the military may have tempered the once zealous and unrestrained character of its senior and junior officers as “protectors of the people,” which is articulated in the Constitution, to which the rebellious Reform the Armed Forces Movement (RAM) had dedicated their cause.

Most Christians see only a part of the picture when it comes to God’s will for their prosperity and instead contradict this Biblical principle through ignorance of Biblical truths and persistent doubts about an abundant and prosperous life that the prophets and Jesus himself had promised.

More on healing Evangelist Kenneth Hagin from his book, Biblical Keys to Financial Prosperity. “The Bible says that it is God’s will that His children prosper (3 John 2). And God has made provisions for every one of us to have our needs met and to walk in prosperity. But there are keys to appropriating the divine promises.

“In 1949, after I left the last Church I pastored to go into field ministry, the Lord gave me the revelation of faith for finances. I had been seeking Him because our needs weren’t being met. Isaiah 1:10 says, ‘If ye be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of your land’… But we surer weren’t eating the good of the land.’

“I argued with the Lord that I had been obedient to do what he had told me to do. He said, ‘You qualify on the ‘obedient’ side, but you don’t qualify on the ‘willing’ side. So, you don’t qualify.” I made the necessary adjustments in my spirit immediately. Then I knew I was willing and obedient.

“After I became willing, the Lord still had to get my thinking straightened out. You see, in our denomination, we had always believed it was God’s will that we are poor and not have anything.

“So I had to get my mind renewed to think in line with what God’s Word said about prosperity. Then the Lord told me not to pray about finances the way I had been praying. Before, when a need arose, we’d always get by somehow. But we struggled financially.

“The Lord said I was to claim whatever it was I needed in Jesus’ name, to command Satan to take his hands off my money and to send out ministering spirits to cause the money to come. This was the revelation I received from the Lord about faith in finances.

“You see, faith operates the same way in every area. I had used faith to get saved. And I was raised up from the death bed, fully recovering miraculously from a deadly disease that almost took my life, by believing and acting upon Mark 11:23 and 24. But until I received the revelation of faith for finances and learned how to release my faith in that area, I didn’t know how to appropriate getting any needs met.”

Mark 11:23 says ‘… whoever shall say… and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith’. What shall he have? Whatsoever he says!”
