TWO show biz couples are back in town after giving birth to their firstborns abroad. First is Anne Curtis and hubby Erwan Heussaff with their baby daughter, Dahlia.
Anne and Erwan flew to Melbourne, Australia last year for the baby to be born there and they were not able to return home right away due to the pandemic. Several of their showbiz friends are happy to see them again and have greeted them, warmly welcoming them back home.
Then there’s Janella Salvador and Markus Paterson with their son Jude. Unlike Anne and Erwan who are legally married, Janella and Markus have yet to be blessed by the sacrament of marriage. They first kept quiet about Janella’s pregnancy despite the very strong buzz about her condition.
But when Janella flew to England in September to be with Markus and his parents who are based there, the rumor got more intense. She gave birth on October 20 and they eventually admitted her getting pregnant last January, more than two months after the baby has already been delivered.
Their journey going back home is properly chronicled in their social media accounts and they will undergo a longer quarantine period since they came from the United Kingdom, where there is a deadly new variant of the Covid virus.
The question now is which between Anne and Janella will be able to stage a successful comeback in showbiz. No doubt it would be easier for Anne to make a comeback since she has a regular show, “It’s Showtime.”

Lovi Poe celebrated her birthday on February 11 while doing lock in taping for her new show, “Owe My Love,” in Bulacan and also celebrated Valentine’s Day there.
“Hindi naman ako nalungkot kasi andami kong ka-Valentine,” she said. “Ate Jackielou Blanco and I have the same birthday kaya sabay rin kaming nag-celebrate ng birthday sa set with the rest of the cast.”
She’s enjoying being in a romcom like “Owe My Love.” “Lately, sa movie man or on TV, puro drama ang ginagawa ko so it’s nice to do something light naman, for a change. I play Sensen Guipit, breadwinner sa family kaya naman baon sa utang. But even if she’s being chased by her debtors, very positive pa rin siya at pinipilit maging masaya. There’s actually so much to learn from Sensen’s journey.”
She thought the show would no longer push through because of the pandemic.
“Actually, one year in the making itong show as we started bago pa mag-lockdown. Enjoy kami lahat, so I’d like to work with the same group, even with our production team, kasi I feel we’re all very safe. Sagana kami sa food. I requested pasta from Ate Ai Ai de las Alas as she cooks for us on the set and her pasta is so super sarap it’s mind blowing.”
Doing “Owe My Love” with so many comedians was initially a challenge. “I’m excited to work with them and do comedy. I try to be on my toes when I’m with them kasi they’re good in making people laugh. Kapag si Tito Leo Martinez as Lola Badong ang mag-a-ad lib, I don’t wanna be caught off guard na matatawa rin ako. We can’t wait to see how the audience will react to it.”

‘We hope his starring role as Steve Armstrong in “Voltes V” would help boost his career.’
Miguel Tanfelix is striking on his own in GMA-7’s live action version of “Voltes V: Legacy.”
“Voltes V” was a Japanese anime series in black and white first aired in the Philippines in the late ‘70s and became such a big hit with its catchy title song. There was a local movie that spoofed it, “Vontes V,” starring the late Chiquito.
Miguel used to be part of the “Biguel” love team. But his partner Bianca Umali is now doing projects without him, like “Legal Wives” with Dennis Trillo and the HBO show “Half Worlds,” and it’s common knowledge that, off cam, she is dating Ruru Madrid.
Miguel definitely deserves to be built up on his own as he’s one of the best-looking guys in the Kapuso stable and he also acts well. We hope his starring role as Steve Armstrong in “Voltes V” would help boost his career.
“I’m so thankful to GMA for giving me a big trendsetting project such as ‘Voltes V’ and I feel so proud and excited as Steve Armstrong,” said Miguel. “I promise to give all my best and cooperate with Direk Mark Reyes to make this show very successful and a huge hit with the viewers.”
Joining Miguel in the cast as the other members of the “Voltes V team are Ysabel Ortega (daughter of Sen. Lito Lapid last seen in “The Gift”) as Jamie Robinson, the only female member of their team; Radson Flores as Mark; Matt Lozano as Big Bert; and child actor Raphael Landicho as Little Jon. Playing the villains in “Voltes V: Legacy” are Martin del Rosario as Zardoz and “Starstruck” discovery Liezel Lopez as Zandra.
