SUNSHINE Dizon is happy to inform the fans of “Magkaagaw” that the show is now back on the air at 2:30 p.m. after “Eat Bulaga.”
“Yes, sa lahat ng nagme-message sa akin kung kailan kami nila ulit mapapanood, heto po, nakabalik na po kami,” she said. “If you’d recall, I play Laura who figured in a deadly love triangle with Alfred Vargas, her husband, and Sheryl Cruz as Veron. Alfred chose to marry me so Sheryl is hellbent on taking revenge on me and my daughter, Klea Pineda as Clarrisse, who’s married to Jeric Gonzales as Jio.”
The series was peaking in its intensity last March when the pandemic came and stopped the airing of the show. The sudden termination was with a cliffhanger. Sunshine and her daughter Klea’s lives are put in danger because of Sheryl’s evil schemes to cover up her and Jio’s infidelity.
Sunshine has also now branched out into working behind the camera. She’s one of the producers of Sanggre Productions that is producing a new series, “The Battle of Brody and Brandy.” This is a romantic-comedy starring Iza Calzado and Ian Veneracion. How about her love life after her split with her husband Timothy Tan?
“Naku, I don’t have time for that. Inaasikaso ko na lang ang dalawang anak ko at ang career ko. Okay na ‘yun.”

‘Mahusay na siyang magluto, maglinis, maglaba. She’s joking nga na puede na
siyang mamasukan as a helper. — Matteo Guidicelli’
Matteo Guidicelli ended the past year as a judge in TV5’s “Masked Singer.” He now starts 2021 as the host of the new TV5 reality talent search, “Born to be a Star,” produced by Viva TV that will start airing January 30, 7 p.m.
“I’m really excited kasi after I was a judge, host naman ako ngayon at ang co-host ko, si Kim Molina, dating kong kasama as a judge sa ‘Masked Singer’,” he said. “Kim is such a funny and energetic host. Maganda agad ang chemistry namin as hosts of ‘Born to be a Star’.”
He has seen the initial crop of contestants and he said they’re all very talented. “They come from different backgrounds but they’re all quite impressive, so siguradong mag-e-enjoy ang televiewers natin when the show starts airing at the end of this month.”
Instead of judges, they will have what they call star agents who will help in mentoring the contestants. “Nakakatuwa kasi iba-iba ang personality nila. There are five of them, starting with comedian Andrew E., choreographer Georcelle Sy, and singers Sam Concepcion, Katrina Velarde and Janine Teñoso. The prizes are really grand, including P1 million cash, plus recording and management contract with Viva.”
Matteo and wifey Sarah G. will celebrate their first anniversary next month. How would he describe their first year as husband and wife?
“It’s great!” he said. “I’ve discovered more about her. She’s really serious in doing her wifely duties. Mahusay na siyang magluto, maglinis, maglaba. She’s joking nga na puede na siyang mamasukan as a helper. And most of all, we discovered she has a talent for baking, for being a pastry chef. She’s taking it very seriously. When she’s baking, you cannot bother her. She makes the perfect cakes. Her blueberry cheesecake will just blow your mind.”

Vicky Morales remains one of the loveliest news persons on local TV. She was just starting with GMA-7 when we first met her. Now, she’s a golden girl but she looks much younger than her age as she looks like she’s found the fountain of youth.
She’s also one of the busiest news persons on the Kapuso Network. She co-anchors “24 Oras” at 6:30 p.m. with Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco. And aside from that, she also hosts the long-running Saturday public service show, “Wish Ko Lang.”
And every Monday, she headlines GMA News TV’s “Happy Hour Favorites” at 5:45 p.m. with “Good News” which aims to distribute good vibes to all its viewers. Off cam, Vicky is a doting mom to twin boys, Leon Alfonso and Filippo Luis, who are turning teenagers in March of this year.
GMA News TV is really strengthening its programming with the introduction of the many entertainment shows starting with “The Lost Recipe,” but it’s also beefing up its “Happy Hour” timeslot. Also seen at 5:45 is a variety of shows that not only entertains but also informs and instructs.
On Tuesdays, Kara David will teach how to cook the most enticing Filipino dishes in “Pinas Sarap!” On Wednesday, Susan Enriquez will share with you tips on how to come up with new business ideas in “Pera Paraan.”
On Thursday, Gabbi Garcia will orient you about the latest trends in pop culture in “IRL (In Real Life).” And on Fridays, Drew Arellano shows how to travel in the new normal in “Biyahe ni Drew.”

Snooky Serna and Dina Bonnevie are happy to be back before the cameras now that the taping for their primetime GMA show, “Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday” has resumed. The show was interrupted by the pandemic lockdown in March but is now back on the air.
Snooky plays Amy while Dina plays Susie, but when the story starts, they’re played by Max Collins and Lovi Poe, respectively. They used to be the best of friends but their friendship was shattered when they found out they’re in love with the same guy, Joaquin (Jay Manalo), and they become mortal enemies for life.
Snooky is very happy to be part of this show as it brings back pleasant memories of the time she did the original “Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday” with Maricel Soriano for Regal Films in the 1980s. Their mothers then were played by Nida Blanca and Gloria Romero.
“It’s one of our biggest hits and also one of the most entertaining movies we did in our younger days,” she said. “So I’m really happy to be a part now of its remake on TV. Maricel is not available but I’m always delighted working Dina na nakasama rin namin ni Maria noon in ‘Underage,’ another big hit. It’s always a joy working with her.”
