K BROSAS

K BROSAS is one of the main hosts of “Sing Galing,” TV5’s top-rating videoke singing game show on TV5 that will have its finals for the kiddie edition on December 3 and the finals for the regular contestants on December 10.

“I really enjoy hosting the show kasi ang gagaling lahat ng contestants,” says K. “Wala kang tulak-kabigin sa husay nila. Ilang beses na akong napaiyak ng mga bata just watching them sa pagkanta nila, kasi ang babata nila, pero amazing ang husay nila at such a young age. At ang maganda, walang inggitan sa kanila. Naka-lock in kasi silang lahat sa hotel kaya naging magkakabarkada na sila.”

K a.k.a. Kakai a.k.a. Carmela Brosas has really come a long way from being a member of the group Gladys and the Boxers. On TV, she started as a co-host in “Eat Bulaga” then also tried acting in sitcoms like “Idol Ko si Kap” and soaps like “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin.” She even played a villain in the Angel Locsin version of “Darna” as Divina Demonica.

Now, she’s one of local TV’s most familiar hosts and she also just starred in a movie, “Will You Marry?,” shot on location in Copenhagen. She plays a Pinay mom who goes to Denmark to meet her Danish boyfriend she met online. It’s now showing on Netflix.  She is also happy that her dream house is now finally complete after five years in the making. Her previous contractor was fully paid but suddenly left without finishing her house.

“Idinemanda ko kasi hard earned money ko ang itinakbo niya,” she says. The new house has three floors, three bedrooms with a room each for the maid and the driver. “Lahat ‘yan, I can proudly say na bunga ng sariling pagod at pagsisikap ko,” she says.

Currently working with Vivamax are three sexy sisters all just too willing and able to disrobe before the camera: Angela Morena, Stefanie Raz and Micaella Raz.

They’re the nieces of former sexpot Lara Morena. Angela is the eldest at 23 and she took the family name of her Auntie Lara, while Stefanie and Micaella chose to retain their real family name.

Micaella is the youngest and she is now being launched solo playing the title role in “Bata Pa si Sabel” as a young bride raped by three men on her wedding night. Her husband is also killed so she vows to take revenge on their tormentors. Her sisters Angela and Stefanie also appear in the movie, playing supporting roles, to show their full support for her in her bid for solo stardom.

“I really appreciate the efforts of my sister to help me,” says Micaella. “Lalo na ang ate kong si Angela, kasi nagbibida na siya but she just plays a supporting role here just to help me. We shot the movie on location in Mindoro and we really had fun being together kasi the place where we stayed was near the beach, so para lang kaming nagbabakasyon.”

Albie Casiño started as a teen star in Star Magic and he did several shows for ABS-CBN, including “Mara Clara,” “100 Days to Heaven,” “On the Wings of Love” and others. His career got derailed when Andi Eigenmann said he’s the dad of her love child but eventually, a paternity test showed it’s really Jake Ejercito and he was vindicated.

He went on with his career playing plum roles in TV series like “Pusong Ligaw” and “Los Bastardos.” He also did several movies, mostly for Regal, like “Somebody to Love,” “The Escort,” “Die Beautiful,” “Pwera Usog” and “Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love.”

He has completed several other films, like “Madawag ang Daan Patungong Pag-asa” with Rita Daniela and for Vivamax, he did “Biyak” and “Moonlight Butterfly” where he did unabashed bedscenes. He now stars in a barkada comedy, “Call Me Papi,” where he shares topbilling with Enzo Pineda, Royce Cabrera, Lharby Policarpio and Aaron Concepcion, written and directed by Alvin Yapan.

It took a long time for them to finish “Call Me Papi” because of the pandemic. “We started in 2020 then na-stop dahil inabutan kami ng lockdown,” he says. “We resumed in 2021, then nag-lockdown uli. Kapag nagkikita nga kami sa labas ng co-stars ko, we asked, tuloy pa ba ang movie? Finally, last July, we completed it and now, it’s showing in theaters on December 7.”
