ALICE Dixson will have to return home soon to help promote her new soap with GMA-7, “Legal Wives,” which will replace the rom-com “Owe My Love.” Right now, Alice is in the USA with her new baby who she just addresses as Baby A. She has expressed her desire to come home to Manila with her baby who she got through surrogacy.
With regard to this, she has posted in her own YouTube vlog how to travel in North America with all the travel restrictions because of the pandemic. She posted a footage of her crossing the Canadian-US borders with all her documentation and requirements.
Netizens reacted to her. Someone even reprimanded her: “People should stop travelling so Covid can go away soon, this is the reason why the world is infected because people don’t remain where they are. Please stop travelling.”
Of course, Alice expectedly defended herself. She wrote back: “Some people are very narrow minded. Especially those who judge the actions of others without having any real sense of understanding. My travels are of necessity – not of desire. Likewise I take responsibility and precaution. So instead of telling me what I should do, I suggest you tend to your own thoughts & life. Respectfully.”
Alice plays one of her most challenging roles ever in “Legal Wives.” She plays Amirah, the eldest wife of Dennis Trillo, a Maranaw named Ishmael. “Amirah is the daughter of a Sultan,” she says. “She was previously married to Dennis’ older brother. When his brother died, parang minana niya ako as his first wife. Then he had two other wives.”
The other two wives are Andrea Torres as Diane, a Christian, and Bianca Umali as Farrah, a young Muslim bride.

Sen. Bong Revilla is giving lots of prizes in his Facebook Live show this coming May 1st to herald in the start of his new action-adventure program, “Agimat ng Agila,” that will start airing on May 1 at 7:15 p.m. Before that at 5 p.m., he will hold his “Amazing Giveaways” in his Facebook Live show.

In the story, Bong plays Major Gabriel Labrador, head of Task Force Kalikasan that aims to protect our environment from poachers and evildoers. Also starring with him in “Agimat ng Agila” are Sanya Lopez, Sheryl Cruz, Elizabeth Oropesa, Allen Dizon, Edgar Allan Guzman, Roi Vinzon, Benjie Paras, Michelle Dee, Miggs Cuaderno and Ian Ignacio.

David Licauco has been with GMA-7 for five years now. He finally gets to play a lead role in a teleserye opposite Julie Anne San Jose, the romantic comedy “Heartful Cafe” that now airs after “First Yaya.” Take note that all the teleseryes shown on GMA’s primetime slots now are all romcoms: “First Yaya,” “Owe My Love” and “Heartful Cafe.”
This should really come as no surprise since most viewers would rather just watch something light and hilarious these days when we are already facing lots of seemingly insurmountable problems because of the pandemic. Why watch soapy dramas with plenty of screaming and slapping scenes and with troubled characters that will only make us more depressed, right?
David says “Heartful Cafe” is the perfect show to watch after dinner as it will lift up your spirits. “Para lang kayong nagre-relax and having coffee with us,” he says. “It’s about young love, very light viewing after dinner.”
Is he being marketed as a sex symbol? He’s always being photographed showing him without his shirt on and even in his underwear. “Walang magagawa kasi they ask me to take it off. But hopefully, eventually, I am praying people will recognize me not just for my body but also for my acting.”
So how is it working with Julie Anne San Jose in “Heartful Cafe”? “I was honestly surprised kasi akala ko, sa pagkanta lang siya magaling,” he says. “I really admire her as a singer but doing the show with her, nalaman kong magaling din pala siyang umarte. You might think she’s just taking it easy, but once you both face the cameras, she gets transformed into the character she plays. She certainly knows her craft and how to act and react for the camera.”

Folks say it’s obvious that it’s Julia Barretto who seems to be more head over heels in love with Gerald Anderson than it’s the other way around. “Siya talaga ang mukhang mas in love kay Gerald,” comments one netizen.
When Gerald celebrated his 32nd birthday last month, she even wrote to him: “Everyday I celebrate you, but today I am extra grateful. Happy birthday my love, I am SO PROUD OF YOU.”
In Gerald’s vlog, Julia said she’s ready to start a family by next year. If this is her way of saying she wants to get married soon, we hope Gerald is listening loud and clear. And we pray that he gives her what she is asking for. She says it’s really her dream to start building her own family. But some fans continue to exhibit negative feelings for their relationship. They say this is an easy decision since, anyway, Julia doesn’t really have any career at the moment because she has not had a show or a movie for some time now.

Bashers always seem to be having a field day with Julia and Gerald. Maybe both Julia and Gerald need some serious damage control. Admit it or not, not too many people seem to be truly happy for their being together.
