‘Kasi, first time kong maging kontrabida ever. At natural na ayaw kong mapahiya. — Jodi Sta. Maria’
Jodi Sta. Maria is playing a ruthless contravida in the new series, “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin,” her first project with Maricel Soriano, Iza Calzado and Sam Milby.

She is excited and nervous, she said. “Kasi, first time kong maging kontrabida ever. At natural na ayaw kong mapahiya,” she explained.
Jodi was last seen in iWant’s “My Single Lady,” which she also produced. She was joined by Zanjoe Marudo and Ian Veneracion in that mini-series.
Incidentally, “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin” is Iza’s first project recovering from Covid-19. She is ready to work, she assured.
“Kung sabagay, bago itong ‘Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin,’ I already appeared in ‘Paano Kita Pasasalamatan.’ At nakapag bigay na nga rin ako ng blood plasma,” Iza revealed.
Maricel is seen daily in the replay of the series “The General’s Daughter,” topbilled by Angel Locsin.
Sam’s last teleserye was “Halik” with Jericho Rosales, Yam Concepcion, Yen Santos, Romnick Sarmenta and Jane de Leon.

Maine Mendoza, together with Alden Richards, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros, appears live on the noontime show, “Eat Bulaga,” Mondays to Wednesdays.
Because of the ongoing quarantine protocols, management of the show request them to tape their Thursday to Saturday episodes.
For her weekly sitcom with Vic Sotto, “Daddy’s Gurl,” they tape online, as requested by the veteran actor.
We heard that Maine will be doing a movie intended for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this December. We wonder who her leading man will be.
The entry will reportedly be produced by TBA Productions, which had an entry in last year’s MMFF, “Write About Love.”

Is it true that Alessandra de Rossi wanted Empoy Marquez as leading man in “Through
Night and Day,” which is now among the most watched movies on Netflix Philippines?
Well, it is understandable if it’s true, since Alessandra and Empoy were the leads in the tremendous hit, “Kita Kita,” from Spring Films and Viva Films.
“Through Night and Day” pairs Alessandra with Paolo Contis. They play an engaged couple who vacation in Iceland. Something happened during the trip, leading the two to examine their relationship.
Obviously Netflix viewers found the movie interesting. This is unlike the reception the film got when it was shown two years ago in theaters.

Sam Milby has chosen to ignore the ex of his girlfriend, Catriona Gray.
We are talking about model-actor Clint Bondad, who has been posting about Catriona on his social media account.
As one entertainment writer said: “Alam naman kasi ng mga mambabasa kung totoo ang report about a celebrity, considering the existence of the social media. At saka, ‘di pa gaanong sikat si Clint para paniwalaan ang kanyang mga sinasabi.”
Meanwhile, Catriona has released the music video of the song, “We’re In This Together,” where she sings and Sam plays the guitar. Whatever funds the music video will raise, said the couple, will go to Catriona’s advocacies.

Vice Ganda now has his own Vice Ganda Network.
For his guests in the network’s “Gabing Gabi Na Vice,” he is eyeing those he has not featured before in his late night talk show, “Gandang Gabi, Vice.” Among those he wants to guest are Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes.
Vice Ganda will continue hosting the noontime show, “It’s Showtime,” on the Kapamilya Channel.
He said he misses interacting with the “It’s Showtime” audience and having fun with the staff and his friends and co-hosts before the pandemic happened.
“I pray na magtagal pa ang ‘It’s Showtime’,” Vice Ganda said.
Bobet Vidanes is at the helm of “It’s Showtime.”
