‘Bihirang mabigyan ng pagkakataong ganito lalo ngayong ang hirap mabigyan ng magandang role. — Jane de Leon’
It is a busy start of the year for Jane de Leon. Aside from being included in the cast of the long-running action series, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” topbilled by Coco Martin, she will soon start work on “Darna,” where she plays the title role, no less.
The project will be directed by Jerrold Tarog, who was initially assigned to be at the helm of the movie project.
“In Darna, I’ll be playing dual roles, Narda and Darna,” said Jane. “Narda is the girl who turns into Darna pag nalulon na niya ang miracle stone at sumigaw ng Darna.
“At 22 (Jane’s real age), I can still play the young Narda,” she added.
Since both projects — “Darna” and “Probinsyano” — will require her to do fight scenes, we asked her if she will not find the demands of the role too taxing.
“Kakayanin ko,” she replied. “Bihirang mabigyan ng pagkakataong ganito lalo ngayong ang hirap mabigyan ng magandang role.”

Jane’s last project was the teleserye, Halik, where she played the teenage sister of Jericho Rosales.
Actress Amy Austria played their mother.
“Very inspiring si Tita Amy,” Jane said. “Siya ang nag-encourage sa akin to give more drive to my acting, kung gusto kong sumikat. Para daw hindi ako mapako sa pagiging supporting actress.”
She was also a member of a dance group featured in the noontime show, “It’s Showtime.”
She had to audition for the role of Darna, before she was finally announced as the may-ari ng bato.
“At that time, walang may idea na magkakaroon ng pandemic,” she recalled.
“You can imagine how I felt, therefore, when it was announced that Darna was going to be cancelled.”
Now that it’s going to be a series this year, Jane cannot ask for more, especially after knowing that Paulo Avelino will play her leading man.

Barbie Imperial admits she is lucky to have Diego Loyzaga as her boyfriend.
The actor is not only good-looking and buffed — her weakness — but he is a warm and nice guy.
Barbie has yet to be close to Diego’s mom, actress Teresa Loyzaga, but she has grown fond of Sunshine Cruz, who plays her mom in the top series “Bagong Umaga.”
Sunshine is the ex-wife of Diego’s father, actor Cesar Montano. Their marriage has been annulled.
Sunshine and Cesar have three daughters, all close to Diego.
Barbie says Diego is not her first boyfriend, but he is definitely her most serious romance.
She dated Paul Salas and JM de Guzman.

Turning 60 years old on January 27, “Wowowin” host Willie Revillame has not decided yet on how he will celebrate the occasion.
“Maganda sana if I mark it with a big party,” said Willie. “Last kong mag-birthday na bata bata pa ako. But on second thought, parang nakaka-guilty because of the current crisis sa buong mundo.”
Ultra generous Willie reportedly donated more that P5 million pesos to help the unfortunate, including drivers who were not able to ply their trade during the lockdown.
He has also extended other help and given food and relief goods to others affected by the pandemic.
“I saw him personally bring his donation to the mayor of one town in Catanduanes,” said writer and poet Pablo Tariman, a native of Catanduanes. “At hindi siya nangiming makisalamuha sa mga tao na sobra ang saya na makitang dumating siya.”

How nice to hear that Sharon Cuneta and KC Concepcion have settled their differences before the New Year and a few days before Sharon’s 54th birthday on January 6.
KC reportedly was with Sharon’s family during the New Year.
“Kaya kumpleto ang family ni Mega,” stated someone close to the family.
Now the question is has KC, 35, personally introduced rumored boyfriend Apl. de. Ap to her parents and siblings?
KC and Apl, 45, are rumored to have recently vacationed in Palawan together.
“They have neither confirmed nor deny any relationship,” said our source. “And they are mum about the rumor that they had a Palawan getaway.”

Kim Chiu was ecstatic to meet the mom and grandmother of her boyfriend, Xian Lim, during the holidays.
Xian had an elevator installed in his home for his lola, who was recently sick, so she would not have a hard time going from the first to the second floor.
Xian’s lola had a gift to Kim, a frame with the letters K and C done in cross stitch.
“Mismong ang lola ni Xian ang gumawa nito,” said someone close to the Lims.
Xian is an only child. His parents are estranged.
