Fans of Heart Evangelista who have been missing her would be glad to know that she has just released a song that she first recorded 15 years ago, a romantic number titled “Breathe You.”
“I came across the song again while I was going through my files during the lockdown,” she said. “I remember that back then, I didn’t know what to do with my life. I just knew that I’m extremely happy and free that I’m seeing the world slowly. I remember recording that song because I really had good people around me during that time. Now, I just listen to the song and I remember myself as a 21-year-old girl who is very naive about the world, who thought everything in life was a fairy tale. It’s really refreshing to remember how I was back then. It’s really such a blast working on this and turning one of my dreams into reality.”
Heart really feels so happy these days despite the pandemic. She has a great relationship with husband Gov. Chiz Escudero and his two teenage kids from his first marriage. Do they already have plans on how they will celebrate the coming Christmas season?
“I have no idea yet, but I definitely changed my big, big tree, which was almost half of this room, to a little tree. It’s like a plant. That’s how small my Christmas tree is because I guess there’s just so much work, and you know, things are just so complicated these days.
But I still wanted to put a symbol of Christmas in our home. I’m not really sure if I’m gonna spend Christmas here in Manila because, as much as possible, I want to be with as many relatives as possible. So, baka sa Sorsogon kami magki-Christmas.”

Korina Sanchez is thankful for the warm reception viewers gave the initial telecast of her magazine show, “Rated Korina,” on TV5 last Saturday. The feedback is all positive and this coming Saturday, she promises to scare viewers with her terrifying stories about ghosts and the occult in her show’s special Halloween presentation.
Her special guest is director Rahyan Carlos who recounts his experiences while doing the horror movie “Pamahiin” for Regal Films starring Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo. Direk Rahyan recounts the scary incidents they experienced while shooting the movie in a haunted house in Bulacan. Do you know that Korina herself has experienced being haunted by ghosts? When we interviewed her recently, she revealed not even ghosts can manage to scare her.
“Yes, minulto ako, at pati ‘yung multo, kinagalitan ko,” she said. “I just refuse to be a victim, kahit na nga multo pa siya. Pinapatay ang ilaw sa room ko. So nagalit ako, pinalayas ko siya. ‘Yung mga barya sa table ko, ibinato ba naman against the wall. Hindi ko siya tinigilan. Tumawag ako ng pari at pina-bless ko ‘yung buong bahay ko. Then tumawag din ako ng nagtatawas at pinatawas ko ‘yung buong house. O, ‘di nawala siya.”
But it’s not just the first time it happened to her. “Lumipat ako sa ibang bahay. Minulto na naman ako. A psychic told me lalaki ‘yung multo. Sinusundan daw ako. Kasi lumalabas lang siya kapag wala akong boyfriend. Ngayon, may asawa na ako, hindi na nagpapakita sa akin.”

Ian Veneracion said life in showbiz really turns like a wheel.
“When I started as a child actor, ako ‘yung son sa title ng ‘Joey & Son.’ Now, in my new show sa TV5, ako na ‘yung dad sa ‘Oh My Dad.’ I’ve come full circle, haven’t I? And since I don’t intend to retire from the industry, baka dumating ‘yung araw na magiging lolo naman ang papel ko!” he said with a laugh.
In “Oh My Dad,” he’s a former top cager who stayed in the US for a while and when he returned home, three young people showed up to claim he’s their long-lost dad: Sue Ramirez, Louise Abuel and Adrian Lindayag. In real life, is he also a ladies’ man?
“No, not at all. I’m a faithful husband to Pam, my wife of 26 years. But like in the show, I also have three kids, pero iisa lang ang mother. I cannot imagine myself having kids with different mothers. Good boy po ako, maniwala kayo’t hindi. Hahahaha!”
As a teen actor, he was built up by Seiko Films as an action star and when he matured, he did dramas in soaps. How is it doing a sitcom like “Oh My Dad”?
“Okay lang, hindi naman ako nanibago. Unang-una, ang director namin, si Jeffrey Jeturian, was also my director in ‘Be Careful with My Heart’ which ran for several years. Kaya sanay na ako sa kanya. He’s really one of the best directors we have today and I trust him all the way. Mabilis ang trabaho namin, lalo na nga’t lock in taping kami na magkakasama kami lahat sa isang resort, Fontana, where we are given our own villas and we were able to tape several episodes right away. Alagang-alaga kami ng aming producer, Atty. Joji Alonso of Quantum Films.”
