JULIE Anne San Jose has a concert series of three shows. The first leg was shot in Mindanao, showing on September 17. The second leg was shot in the Visayas and final leg was shot in Luzon.
“When I learned about the concept of ‘Limitless,’ it really got me excited,” she said. “First time for me to do a concept like this and it’s also my first time to go to the places in Mindanao we’ve been to and it’s worth it. Just preparing for it is already a breathtaking experience. I’m baring my heart and soul in this concert and it makes me feel more inspired with living life as I discovered myself even more. I think this will definitely be one for the books, and food for the soul.”
The concert will show the different facets of Julie as a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and multi-instrumentalist. But the biggest revelation comes to Julie as she searches for new inspiration in this journey of discovery that takes her to unexpected locations all over the country.

“Going to Mindanao for the first leg of our concert is a big relief for our team kasi we’ve been restricted for some time now and it’s the first time naming naka-travel na lahat since the pandemic started,” she said. “We’re grateful to the people of Mindanao who helped us and even arranged our itineraries like La Palmera Ridge in Grand Mountains. I met some indigenous people in the mountains who were very warm in welcoming us and got to know a lot about their culture which is very educational for me.”
Directed by Paolo Valenciano, “Limitless, A Musical Trilogy” is produced by GMA Synergy.

Janno Gibbs does a provocative sex-comedy, “69+1,” that starts streaming on Vivamax on Sept. 3.
He plays the third wheel in the sapphic relationship of Maui Taylor and Rose Van Ginkle. Did he have any reluctance in doing the project?
“Yes, I had reservations at first, kasi sensitive ang material,” he says. “But with Darryl Yap as the writer-director, siguradong maganda ito at siguradong patok, so I agreed to do it. Tungkol sa threesome ito. May love scenes kaming tatlo nina Maui at Rose, but the thing is it’s all presented in a comedic way, kaya mas naging kampante ako. Since it’s a sex-comedy, mas comfortable for me kasi it’s not serious na sexy.”
So how did the story go? “Lovers sila for seven years at gusto nilang i-test ang relationship nila so they get me to join them. Sa love scenes, it helps that that the three of us know each other na and we’ve worked together before so we’re not strangers to one another.”
Would he make his family watch the movie? “No, even ‘Pakboys’ na sex comedy rin, hindi ko pinapanood sa wife and daughters ko. Although they understand my work as an actor, but I still feel it’s awkward for them to watch their dad in such scenes. Ako, kahit matagal na ako sa industry, I can say this is the most daring role I’ve done kasi most of the movies I’ve done comedy, naughty rin, pero not this naughty. But knowing Direk Darryl, I’m sure with class ang pagkakagawa niya rito.”
So does it at least offer a moral lesson?
“Wala po, wala pong lesson dito. Hahaha! Hindi, marami, marami kayong mapupulot ditong insights about relationships, not only about polyamourous relationships, but universal, kahit anong klase ng relationship. It will help make you think. What does it take to make you happy? And what does it take to make you stick together?”

‘I don’t want to give them the satisfaction of me being affected and making patol to them. Never akong sumagot sa bashers. — Bianca Umali’
BianCa Umali
Bianca Umali is inspired in playing her most mature role to date as Farrah, the third wife of Dennis Trillo in the hit GMA series, “Legal Wives.”
“First time ko pong gumanap ng isang wife at ang character ko rito, naging rape victim pa at nabuntis,” she said. “I feel so privileged to be a part of a big-budgeted show like this na ginastusan talaga ang sets and costumes. And I feel proud to be a member of the huge powerhouse cast. Gumaganap po rito bilang parents ko sina Bernard Palanca and Maricar de Mesa.”
Bianca was 9 years old when we met her in the kiddie show “Tropang Potchi” in 2009. We learned then that she’s an orphan as both her parents died early and she was raised by her Lola Vicky. She’s now their breadwinner.
We noticed that there was a time she was bashed after she posted her photos in a bikini and some folk even shamed her.
“Yes, sabi ng iba, masyado akong pumayat. But ganun talaga, kung artista ka, kahit anong i-post mo, may mga magba-bash sa’yo so ready na ako sa mga ganon. Part of the job ‘yan as you can never really expect to please everyone at lahat may opinion about you. So I don’t just mind them. I don’t want to give them the satisfaction of me being affected and making patol to them. Never akong sumagot sa bashers. ‘Yun kasi ang gusto ng mga negative people, ang sumagot ka, so ayoko nga dahil hahaba lang.”
