Wag Mong Agawin ang Akin” is one of the biggest hits in Vivamax series. It stars Angeli Khang as Jasmine, Jamilla Obispo as Christine and Felix Roco as Tom and is now on its last two Sundays.

“We want to thank all the viewers who watch our show,” says Jamilla. “They tell us tutok na tutok sila sa story because the story of a mother and a daughter sharing the same lover is so interesting for them.”

“Nakakatuwa ang comments na nababasa ko about our series,” says Angeli. “We really did our best with the help of Direk Mac Alejandre. Gustong-gusto raw nila not just the love scenes but the dramatic confrontation scenes.”

The story centers on two women: Jamilla, a rich executive who’s looking for her long-lost daughter, and Angeli, a young woman who was abandoned by her biological mother. They cross paths again and both fall in love with Felix. They have so many dramatic scenes complete with slapping scenes.

“I want to thank Angeli for being a real trouper,” says Jamilla. “She’s even the one who tells me totohanin ko ang sampal sa kanya at lakasan ko raw.”

“I want it to be real so I can feel the pain and help in my emoting,” says Angeli. “Okay lang masaktan ako.”

Jillian Ward is launched in “Abot Kamay na Pangarap.” She plays Analyn, the love child of Carmina Villaroel as Lyneth, an illiterate woman. Her dad is a doctor, played by Richard Yap, who abandoned her mom while still pregnant with her. Jillian turns out to be a child genius and became a doctor at a very young age. She teaches her mom how to read and write.

So how did she prepare for her role as a young doctor? “We had an immersion in an actual hospital,” she says. “We watched the doctors there as they did brain surgery. I also watched medical shows like ‘The Good Doctor.’ Mahirap ang role as I had to memorize a lot of medical terms. Kahit natutulog na ako, I try to remember them and when I wake up, naaalala ko pa rin sila.”

How is it working with Carmina? “Ay, napakabait po niya. She really acted like a mother to me. I told her nga that I will miss her after the show. Marami siyang words of wisdom shared with me.”

In “Prima Donnas,” she had Will Ashley as her partner. But now, she’s paired with new actor Jeff Moses. How is it? “I trust the management kung sino ang gusto nilang ipareha sa akin. But honestly, I don’t want to be identified with just one love team. I want to be known as a solo actress.”

‘GMA is coming up with its own millennial version of a TV series, “Underage,” starring Lexi Gonzales, Elijah Alejo and Hailey Mendez’

Lexi Gonzales, Elijah Alejo and Hailey Mendez

GMA remakes “Underage,” the 1980 hit movie that launched the careers of Maricel Soriano, Dina Bonnevie and Snooky Serna as Regal Babies. Directed by the late Joey Gosiengfiao, they played three sisters who have to cope with their life as orphans.

We remember we were there at Mother China along Pasay Road when Mother Lily Monteverde came with Maricel and Snooky in tow. Maricel was with her Mommy Linda while Snooky was with her mother Mila Ocampo, both of whom are now deceased.

“I will launch them as teenage stars,” Mother Lily says. “Okay ba?”

All the writers present concurred with her and the rest, as they say, is history. “Underage” was such a blockbuster hit. It was remade in 1991 by the late Maryo de los Reyes as “Underage Too,” starring Ruffa Gutierrez, Aiko Melendez and Carmina Villaroel.

Now, GMA is coming up with its own millennial version of a TV series, “Underage,” starring Lexi Gonzales, Elijah Alejo and Hailey Mendez as the Serrano sisters on GMA Afternoon Prime. Lexi as Celine is 17, Hailey as Carrie is 16, and Elijah as Chynna is 15. This time, they will be suspects in the killing of a young man, Leo, played by Nikki Co.

Lexi as Celine will make a sacrifice and confess to the crime even if she’s innocent, just so her sisters will be set free. She is then confined in a youth care facility for juvenile offenders. Snooky Serna will be joining the cast of the show, along with Sunshine Cruz, Jean Saburit, Yayo Aguila, TJ Trinidad, Christian Vasquez, Jome Silayan, Vince Crisostomo and Gil Cuerva.
