Two well-admired performers who have both not been active in showbiz for some time are staging a comeback via the movie, “Escape From Mamapasano,” which is produced by Atty. Ferdinand Topacio under Borracho Films.
Aljur Abrenica and JC de Vera are featured in “Escape from Mamapasano,” an action-drama with Lawrence Fajardo as director and written by Eric Ramos.
Other performers in the cast are Ritz Azul, Tonton Gutierrez — and guess who else? — Congressman Mikey Arroyo.

Until his decision to become a politician, Congressman Mikey used to be active as actor-producer in the 1990s.
He is currently the representative of the second district of Pampanga.
Mikey is the son of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Jose Miguel Arroyo.

Shall we expect wedding bells to ring soon for Derek Ramsay and Andrea Torres?
Well, the 43-year-old actor has reportedly just moved to his new residence in Ayala Alabang —which might just be perfect for a family home.
Although Derek has been linked to quite a number of girls, he was only married once. He and Mary Christine Jolly share a son, Austin Ramsay, now a teenager. They wed in 2002. Their marriage is now annulled.
“Magkasundo sila ni Austin kaya wala kaming problema,” said Derek, referring to Andrea.
Andrea, 30, said her dream has always been to have a family.
Derek and Andrea met and fell in love while doing the series, “The Better Woman,” on GMA.

Actress and beauty queen Winwyn Marquez is currently undergoing basic citizen’s military training to become a reservist of the Philippine Navy.
Winwyn is, of course, the daughter of Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno.
The Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 winner said she has no plans of totally quitting showbiz.
She will soon join Thia Thomalla and Michelle Dee in the GMA News TV program, “Glow Up.”
Michelle was Miss World Philippines 2019. Her mom is former Miss International Melanie Marquez.

Actor and restaurateur Marvin Augustin’s twins, Sebastian and Santiago, are now 15 years old.
Though the twins live their mom, Tetet Dy, Marvin always makes time to be with them. A big reason is because the ex-couple have remained close and are actually good friends.

Sarah Geronimo describes her new life as a housewife as “nakakapanibago” but extremely enjoyable.
She and her husband Matteo Guidicelli have been married for almost six months. Although their decision to marry shocked her parents, there is a report that the couple are just waiting to meet with Sarah’s Mommy Divine and Daddy Delfin.
“Actually they are just waiting for the right time to meet with Mommy Divine and make amends, so to speak,” said someone close to the couple. “When that will happen, that is the question.”
On when the couple plan to have a baby, our source said: “As far as I know, they want to enjoy each other muna. At least, ‘di problema kay Matteo kung busy pa rin si Sarah.”
Sarah, together with Bamboo, Apl de Ap, and Lea Salonga are the mentors and judges of “The Voice Teens.”

Maymay Entrata stars in “Listen to Love’s The Four Boys and Me,” produced by Star Cinema.
Three among her four leading men are Kaori Oinuma, Ryan Miguel and Jeremiah Lisbo.
“Hindi kasama si Edward (referring to Edward Barber, her perennial leading man),” Maymay said with a sigh. “Kaya nakakapanibago.
“Kung sabagay,” she continued. “Magkasama naman kami sa ‘ASAP.’ And, if plans do not miscarry daw, we will do a project together soon.”
Edward already did a project minus Maymay. He was in “First Love” with Bea Alonzo and Aga Muhlach.
Both Maymay and Edward are products of the reality show, “Pinoy Big Brother” (PBB).
