POPS Fernandez is elated to perform with “Hitmakers” Hajji Alejandro, Marco Sison, Nonoy Zuñiga and Rey Valera in a concert tour in the US, produced by Amore Productions.
“I haven’t really worked with them except for Marco when I was still new, so I’m really excited to work with all of them. Now I can say nakatrabaho ko rin sila now that I’m 30 years old at bago ko mag-retire,” she jokes.
The “Hitmakers” tours before usually included the late Rico J. Puno. Do they miss him?
“Of course, we miss him,” says Nonoy. “Matagal ko na siyang kakilala and he always gives me advice. He’s a natural comedian and I miss his kind of humor.”
“Naturally, we’ll miss him kasi matagal namin siyang nakasama in so many shows,” says Marco. “Up to now, ginagamit namin some of his green jokes. Pinakamagaling dyan, si Rey Valera.”
“I will never forget Rico kasi the first song I did, I wrote it for him, ‘Ako si Superman’,” says Rey. “Malaki ang naging influence niya sa akin. We’re very close and we miss his sense of humor.”
“I’m a fan of Rico J,” says Pops. “Manghang-mangha ako when I first met him. He sang to me sa ‘Eat Bulaga’ then binigyan niya ako ng gold bracelet. I’ll never forget that.”

Ken Chan and Bianca Umali were paired for the first time in “Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss” on GMA. The show is having a good run and is now on its last two weeks, ending on June 3. Unlike the first “Mano Po, The Family Fortune,” which is a family drama, “Her Big Boss” is a romantic comedy.
“At first, medyo nangangapa ako kasi mas nasanay ako sa drama,” says Bianca, whose last drama series, “Legal Wives,” is now being shown on Netflix. “But with the help of our director, naka-adjust naman ako agad.”
Bianca plays Irene, a bubbly woman who is hired to be Ken’s assistant. At first, they don’t see eye to eye, but eventually, they develop feelings for each other. But Bianca already has a boyfriend, Kelvin Miranda as Nestor. So which one would she eventually choose?
“Sa ngayon, nandun ako sa point na nalilito ako kung sino ang pipiliin ko,” she replies.
After this, Bianca will next be seen in HBO’s fantasy series “Half Worlds.” As for Ken, fans of his love team with Rita Daniella are hoping they’d be paired again but we heard the two stars are currently at war because Ken feels Rita has somehow backstabbed him. He was asked about this but he said he’d rather not talk about it at all.

Former Miss Earth Philippines Janelle Tee plays Janine while newcomer Benz Sangalang play Christian. They’ve been in a relationship for some years now but they’re currently experiencing some problems so they decide to leave the city and sort their problems while out of town.
It turns out the beach house where they stay has another guest, Leo (Felix Roco), also on vacation from the Middle East where he is an overseas worker as an engineer. He is with his own girlfriend, Felina (Denise Esteban). Their jumbled affairs threaten to further mess up and destroy their already precarious relationships.
This is just a return for Joey to the sexy genre as two decades ago, someone branded him as a master pornographer for his film about toreros and toreras starring Klaudia Koronel, “Live Show,” which became so controversial that there was a clamor from the outraged self-appointed guardians of our morality who demanded that it be recalled.
Since “Secrets” will be shown on a streaming channel that is beyond the reach of the censors, Direk Joey can show all the debauchery and depravity that he wants to display on screen without being afraid that moralistas will be after his neck again. It will be exciting to see how “Secrets” will ignite the screen and set it on fire.
