Edu Manzano and Cherry Pie Picache
Showbiz is abuzz with the rumor that Edu Manzano and Cherry Pie Picache are actually engaged.
“I will be happy if they get married,” said actress-politician Vilma Santos-Recto, mother of Edu’s eldest son, Lucky.
“Kahit si Lucky agrees they’ll make an ideal couple. Sabi pa niya, ngayon lang daw niyang nakitang sobrang happy ng kanyang ama.

“Huwag na nilang hintaying madagdagan pa ang kanilang mga edad. Sayang ang panahon.”
Edu’s 66 and Cherry Pie is 51.
Should the two wed, it will be Edu’s third marriage. After his marriage to Vilma was annulled, he married Maricel Soriano at the Archbishop Palace in Mandaluyong.
“He and Ate Vi were married in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kaya madaling na-annul ang kanilang kasal,” a kibitzer said.
As for Cherry Pie, she was in a relationship with cinematographer Gary Tria. They have a son, Nio (Antonio), 18, who just graduated from junior high school at the Ateneo de Manila University.
Nio and his father are close.

Happy couple, too, are Lucky and Jessy Mendiola, who just turned 29 recently.
Lucky is 40 years old.
The couple are eager to have a baby — and Ate Vi is very excited to be a lola.
Ate Vi and husband, Senator Ralph Recto, has a son, Ryan Christian, who is taking up Political Science.
Ate Vi is taking a break from politics. It is Senator Ralph, now on his third term, who will run as representative.
Ate Vi started as a child star before becoming a much awarded actress dubbed as the country’s “Star for All Seasons.”

As is common knowledge, HB is running for senator under the Lacson-Sotto ticket.
Of course, Ruffa promises to help him campaign.
HB reportedly has yet to meet Ruffa’s two daughters, Lorin and Venice, with former husband, Yilmaz Bektas.
Ruffa, on the other hand, has met two of HB’s children.
So ano pang problema? Ruffa reportedly was asked.
“Well, as far as Herbert and I are concerned, wala kaming problem,” Ruffa replied. “Doon sa namu-mroblema diumano sa height naming dalawa, that’s their problem, not ours.”

Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez will spend their first Christmas together as husband and wife in Arizona, USA, where Tom was born.
Tom has not been home for a while. It is Carla’s first time, on the other hand, to visit Arizona. It’s her first time, too, to meet most of Tom’s relatives.
Tom, if you recall, was a housemate in “Pinoy Big Brother,” but immediately was evicted, caused by his violent outburst after losing a weekly task.
But as he could sing and dance, aside from being good-looking, Star Magic signed him up.
Since entering showbiz, he has been assigned to play various characters. And the 34-years-old has always delivered.
Carla, 35, belongs to a family of actors. Both her parents, Rey Abellana and Rea Reyes, are former Seiko Films contract talents.
She became an instant star when she played the lead role in the Philippine adaptation of the Mexican telenovela, “Rosalinda.”
Carla currently plays the female lead role in the current top Kapuso series, “To Have and To Hold.”
In any case, right now, her immediate decision is to take a break from showbiz to concentrate on having a baby soon.
Good luck, Carla and Tom.
