2 new pregnancies in showbiz

Only fools — or the truly fearless ones — would declare that this is the best time to bring a new life on this earth.

WE ALWAYS hear folks saying that “a baby is always a blessing.” But we’re currently living in a time that is so full of uncertainty because we do not even know when this worldwide virus crisis will end. Only fools would declare that this is the best time to bring a new life on this earth. Or the truly fearless ones, like Andi Eigenmann and Mark Herras. Andi is pregnant with her third child. While Mark’s current partner, Nicole Donesa, is also infanticipating. All of them do not have yet the blessing of the sanctity of marriage.

Andi proudly announced her condition in her social media account. Her first child is Ellie, sired by Jake Ejercito. Her next daughter is courtesy of a surfer in Siargao named Philmar Alipayo, who’s also the dad of the baby she’s now carrying. Philmar has two sons from a previous relationship and the mom is now said to be living abroad. Andi wrote: “Happy to announce that we’re expecting another little member of the #happyislafam due in 2021.

Check out our latest vlog to watch our reveal!”

As we all know, Andi is no longer active in showbiz as she has deliberately chosen a simple life as an islander in Siargao. We don’t know how they earn a living in Siargao, especially now that a new baby is coming and they have more mouths to feed. With Ellie, she has no problem as we’re sure the Ejercitos would be more than willing to support her wholeheartedly.

As for Mark Herras, he already has a love child, a girl named Ada, now 6 years old, with his former handler at GMA-7. He’s currently jobless and his last regular show was the afternoon soap, “Bihag,” last year yet.

With the pandemic crippling the showbiz industry, he has yet to have a new regular assignment for this year. His fiancee (they’re officially engaged), Nicole Donesa, is just starting her acting career when they met on the set of “Bihag.” She’s in “Descendants of the Sun” playing a nurse, but taping was disrupted by the lockdown and now that it is about to resume its taping, Nicole is already pregnant. We just hope she and Mark have other means of income, for the sake of their baby. Ang hirap-hirap ng buhay, tapos ngayon ka pa magbe-baby nang wala kang trabaho, so good luck na lang. And here’s wishing the relationships of Andi and Philmar, Mark and Nicole will last forever.

Paolo Ballesteros says he and Wally Bayola are thoroughly enjoying their roles as twin sisters hosting the new TV5 program, “Bawal na Game Show.”

“Pareho kaming in drag all throughout the show,” he says. “Siya si Barbie Ghorl at ako naman si Bebe Ghorl. The title of the show is ‘Bawal na Game Show’ kasi bawal na hindi gawin ng contestants ang lahat ng challenges na we as hosts will ask them to do. Ang tawag namin sa contestants dito are the Pasaways. Lahat bawal, at ang hindi lang bawal sa kanila is winning. Puedeng-puede silang manalo ng big big prizes during the show.”

It’s good he and Wally have already established their good chemistry in “Eat Bulaga” so their banter and hilarious exhange of repartees come naturally for them.

“As twin sisters, sanay na sanay na kami sa batuhan at saluhan namin ng linya,” says Paolo. “The show has four rounds at sa bawat round, may prize ang sinumang mananalo. And even if you are eliminated, walang uuwi ng luhaan, dahil you still have a cash prize. Meron din silang home viewers na ka-partner and the cash prizes range mula P5,000 up to P50,000.”

Paolo says he and Wally are thankful that they have another show aside from “Eat Bulaga.”

“We really feel so blessed kasi ‘yung iba, bakante ngayon dahil sa pandemic, but kami, heto, we still have work to do. May movie sana ako, sequel sa ‘The Panti Sisters,’ which was a big hit, pero siempre, we’ll have to wait until after the pandemic is over before we can shoot it.”

“Bawal na Game” show is aired on TV5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays at 7 p.m., with replays on Colours Channel of Cignal TV.

Two new local films have just completed their filming amidst the pandemic. First is “My First, Your Last, Luis Loves Luisa,” with Rita Daniela, Ken Chan, Richard Yap and Lotlot de Leon. This is the love story of a seminarian and a bar girl, produced by Harlene Bautista’s Heaven’s Best Entertainment and directed by Louie Ignacio.

They had a straight lockdown shooting for more than a week in Pagsanjan, Laguna and had their last shooting day last Monday. All safety measures and protocols were followed before the shoot, like everyone involved had to undergo testing.

Another new film that just wrapped up work is “On the Job 2: The Missing 8,” the sequel to Erik Matti’s first “On the Job” (2013). It is about hired killers who are secretly released from prison to do their hit jobs. It was a critical and box office hit.

The sequel now stars Dennis Trillo, Christopher de Leon, Joel Torre, Ricky Davao, John Arcilla, Lotlot de Leon and Andrea Brillantes.
