OPERATIVES of the Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit arrested a 37-year-old Chinese citizen wanted for kidnapping in an operation in Paranaque City last Monday.
Immigration OIC Joel Anthony Viado said Hu Yang was apprehended in Tambo, Paranaque City by FSU operatives and the Paranaque police.
Hu, who also uses the alias Kin Zihao, is wanted by the Public Security Bureau of Jinjiang City in China for kidnapping.
Viado said information provided by their Chinese counterparts showed the suspect is allegedly a member of a kidnapping syndicate notorious for torturing and killing their victims.
He said several members of the group were nabbed earlier this year in Metro Manila and Pampanga.
“His arrest is a significant step in our ongoing efforts to apprehend foreign criminals hiding in the Philippines. We will continue to work with our counterparts abroad to ensure that those who break the law are held accountable,” Viado said.
He said Hu is considered an undocumented foreigner, his passport having been revoked by Chinese authorities.
“He will remain under our custody while facing a local case in the Philippines,” Viado said.
