Solana Solar Alpha, Alternergy’s wholly-owned subsidiary which leads the development of the Bataan solar project, has also issued the notice to proceed with early work activities of the plant.

Vincent Perez Jr., Alternergy chairman, said in a statement that proceeds from the company’s recent public listing also enabled the company to settle obligation for the full purchase of the projectsite which is only 500 meters from its interconnection point at the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ Hermosa substation.

Altenergy is eyeing to build up to 350 MW worth of power projects in the next three to five years which may be broken down to 33 MW for solar, 220 MW for onshore wind and 50 MW for run-of-river hydro projects.

Alternergy also has an ongoing partnership with Shell Overseas Investment B.V. to pursue offshore wind projects in the Philippines.
