Reckitt recently donated P1.24 million Lysol protection kits to the Office of the Vice President during the recent Vaccine Express deployment held in Malolos, Bulacan.

Through the Vaccine Express program, the OVP is able to help speed up the inoculation efforts of its various LGUs partners.

Reckitt has been actively donating Lysol protection kits–containing Lysol antibacterial hand soap, multipurpose surface wipes and hand sanitizers.

My Dream in a Shoebox

The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines has partnered with My Dream in a Shoebox (MDIAS) to build educational hubs (e-Hub) for two adopted school communities in far-flung areas in Bohol and Capiz.

MDIAS, which is an annual education campaign spearheaded by award-winning integrated marketing experience agency TeamAsia, aims to equip less fortunate Filipino children with tools to help them reach for a brighter future.

For its 13th year, the program is working together with the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation to make education more accessible and inclusive even amid the lingering impact of the pandemic.

The two e-Hubs will provide students and teachers with resources and tools that can help with their distance and modular learning. These include laptops, stable internet connection, printing and school supplies, face masks and alcohol, as well as coverage for some administrative and logistical expenses. The first e-Hub will benefit Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School in Tagbilaran City, which caters to over 8,000 students and over 250 teachers. The second one will be constructed in Roxas City for Dumolog National High School and over 700 students and teachers.

Mag-Pinggang Pinoy Tayo!

The Ajinomoto Philippines Corp. (APC) Group and the Municipality of Cainta held a hybrid ceremonial contract signing event last December 3 to mark their commitment to strengthen the Mag-Pinggang Pinoy Tayo! (MPPT) program in a bid to address malnutrition in the country.

MPPT, a program launched by APC Group in 2018, aims to promote the practice of Pinggang Pinoy, an easy-to-understand healthy food plate guide for Filipinos developed by the Department of Science and Technology — Food and Nutrition Research Institute.

“This program embodies our Nutrition Commitment towards extending the healthy life expectancy of Filipinos. We also recognize the importance of our collaboration with the local government unit of Cainta. Together, we will create an ecosystem that would make the MPPT program effective and sustainable,” said APC Group president Tsutomu Nara during the event.

The Ajinomoto Group’s Nutrition Commitment is to help extend the healthy life expectancy of 1 billion people by 2030 utilizing its expertise in Amino Science.

Toyota discount voucher

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) wants its customers to enjoy the freedom of mobility with the introduction of the new myTOYOTA APP and myTOYOTA Wallet this year. GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) partnered with ABS-CBN Foundation Inc.’s Bantay Bata, in providing vitamin supplements and medicines, like Paracetamol Calpol for Kids, Advil, Scott’s DHA Gummies, thermometers, and more to children and employees, who act as caregivers to the kids in Children’s Village.

The donation will benefit kids who are brought in for custody and rehabilitation

The supplements will help children have a strong immunity in their fight against bacteria and viruses.

Vivant helps Bantayan school implement face-to-face learning

Anisland school in Bantayan, Cebu–one of eight schools in Cebu Province chosen for the pilot implementation of limited face-to-face learning–received equipment and materials from Vivant Foundation Inc. (VFI).

Vivant Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Cebuano firm Vivant Corporation, donated 150 gallons of alcohol, digital thermometers with stand, washable face masks, face shields and refillable spray bottles for the 263 students and 13 teachers of Luyongbaybay Elementary School in Bantayan, Cebu.

The donation is VFI’s contribution to the Department of Education’s (DepEd) efforts to enable public schools around the country to hold in-person classes again.

Wennie Pastor, Luyongbaybay Elementary School principal, said that the teachers and officials of the school are confident they would be able to meet the challenges of implementing face-to-face learning with the support of Vivant Foundation and the local government of Bantayan.

“We see our investment in Luyongbaybay Elementary School as one of the pilot schools not just as an investment in our community in Bantayan, but as an act of hope for all learners nationwide,” Vivant Foundation Executive Director Shem Jose W. Garcia said.

Aside from equipment and materials needed for the implementation of face-to-face learning, Vivant Foundation also donated to Luyang Baybay Elementary School a Riso machine, bond paper and other materials to support the continued production of teaching modules.

“With partners like Vivant, no tide or storm can prevent us from doing our job of delivering quality education to our learners,” said Assistant School Division Superintendent Dr. Anileto Bungcawil of Cebu Division.

BuCor starts jail decongestion program

The Bureau of Corrections has commenced its jail decongestion program and entered into a joint venture agreement (JVA) with Agua Tierra Oro Mina Development Corporation (ATOM) for the transfer of prison facilities from the National Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City to Nueva Ecija.

ATOM has donated a 234-hectare land in Barangay Pias, General Tinio to the BuCor, to be called “Bagong Lupa” and will be home to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

ATOM will construct the prison facilities on the donated land. The facility can accommodate 30,000 male PDLs and 4,000 female PDLs. The new site is already being readied for construction by July 2022. ATOM was given two and a half years to finish the facility at no cost to the government.

The parties have agreed that ATOM (in possible collaboration with the SM Group of Companies) will develop the NBP Reservation in Muntinlupa City (375.61 hectares) into a commercial, residential, and industrial area, and with a revenue sharing of 65% for ATOM and 35% for the Bureau of Corrections. Other investors aside from the SM Group of Companies have already showed interest in the development.

The JVA which has a term of 25 years, renewable for another 25 years pursuant to the BuCor’ mandate of safekeeping and reformation of PDLs.

The JVA will solve the problem of congestion and help the reformation programs for the PDLs and the sustainability of the Bureau of Corrections. At the moment the total PDL population at the NBP Reservation in Muntinlupa City is 28,407 while that of the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City is 3,354 which is equivalent to 300% prison congestion.

PH traders at Binomo World Trading Cup
