Toyota tech graduates

Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech), a premiere automotive technical-vocational (tech-voc) institution, recently held commencement exercises for Batch 12 and 13 – Class of 2021 and 2022, with 176 graduates of the 2-year Toyota General Job (GJ) Automotive Servicing Course. F

TMP Tech’s GJ Course follows the prescribed curriculum of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Under this course, students undertake TESDA National Certification levels 1 to 4, equivalent to Pro-Technician level of the globally known Toyota Education Automotive Mastery for the 21st century (TEAM21) training pr­ogram.

Students further their competencies through an immersive on-the-job training at local Toyota dealerships. TMP Tech has also successfully adapted with the ‘new normal’ of tech-voc training by applying blended learning modality for language courses and theoretical courses such as Toyota-specific principles and global standards.

TMP Tech was jointly founded by Toyota Motor Corp, honorary chairman Dr. Shoichiro Toyota and TMP founding chairman Dr. George S.K. Ty to become a world-class training hub that develops Filipino youth to become highly competent automotive professionals for the Toyota Network.

Therma Mobile supports school reopening

AboitizPower subsidiary Therma Mobile Inc. (TMO) in partnership with Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (AFI) and the Department of Education (DepEd) recently donated 210 teaching aid kits to teachers in Navotas City.

This follows TMO’s continuous support after distributing handwashing facilities to schools around the city last March. Select outstanding teachers from 16 schools in Navotas each received a teaching aid kit composed of a wifi kit and load cards, which will support the shift to a hybrid setup of learning in the upcoming school year.

Pro-aging movement launched

AllHome turns over newly renovated school facilities in Las Piñas

Since its inception, the country’s pioneering full line home center AllHome has supported the cause of education through its social-civic responsibility arm, AllHome Builds. This initiative, alongside promoting a responsible and sustainable lifestyle for its stakeholders, has championed the improvement of the quality of education facilities of the communities that AllHome is part of with the coming resumption of face-to-face classes.

Sharing in government efforts for a smooth post,pandemic transition, AllHome recently turned over newly renovated school facilities to the Pulanlupa Elementary School-Camella Annex, a public school in Las Piñas. Through an initiative spearheaded by AllHome Vice Chairman Camille Villar, AllHome Builds renovated the school’s multipurpose hall, donating much-needed equipment such as airconditioning units, monopole chairs and painting materials. Over 1,200 new students stand to benefit from this initiative, preparing the school for the coming academic year and enhancing their quality of face-to-face learning.

“Education is a cause and that is truly close to my heart, one that shares the values of AllHome as an organization. This initiative we undertook for the Pulanlupa Elementary School is our way to take that first step to inspire the recovery of all our schools from the COVID-19 pandemic.” said Villar.

The newly renovated Multipurpose Hall provides the  teachers, staff and student body of Pulanlupa Elementary School-Camella Annex a suitable venue for learning opportunities and school functions. This initiative intends to continue providing spaces, like the one in Pulanlupa Elementary School-Camella Annex, that are conducive to expanded learning, communal spirit, and the cultivation of a positive classroom climate that can motivate students and put them in better positions to use their education for their own improvement, as well as that of their community.
