May 25 was a day of monumental firsts. Watch boutique Tempus officially opened its doors at City of Dreams Manila while unveiling a unique watch collection.
The Frederique Constant x Dex Fernandez Passion Collection was undeniably the boutique’s crown jewel. Composed of 5 mono edition timepieces, the collection featured Fernandez’s iconic Garapata (The Tick) character carefully hand-painted onto each watch dial from the Swiss watchmaker for a truly one-of-a-kind design.
At this grand opening, Tempus City of Dreams was gearing up to find these 5 watches new homes with the Wear Your HeART private online auction.
Artist Dex Fernandez explained his creative process and how he came up with 5 happy messages. His painted pieces included “Solidarity”, “Balance” , “Move”, “Flow” and “10:10” .
The Center for Art, New Ventures, and Sustainable Development (CANVAS), an advocate for children’s literacy, then gave a presentation for their 1 Million Books for 1 Million Filipino Children project as the auction’s beneficiary.
The winning bids were finally announced by Jacinto. “Balance” and “Solidarity” were sold for 212,000 PHP and 258,500 PHP respectively, wrapping up a night of celebrating art and watchmaking.

PCPPI plants achieve safety seal
Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI)–the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country–achieved complete certification of all its plants across the country. This is after its largest plant in Muntinlupa was recently awarded the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Safety Seal Certification.
This completes all PCPPI plants to the certification program. It affirms that all its plants are compliant with the base public health standards set by the government. They also comply with the General Labor Standards and Occupational Safety and Health Standards of DOLE.
The other PCPPI plants that secured the Safety Seal earlier this year are Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Sto. Tomas, Tanauan, Pampanga, and Bacolod plants.
PCPPI was also recognized for its strict compliance with COVID-19 health and safety standards. These include wearing face masks, availability of handwashing stations and screening or triage areas, and social distancing, among others.
PCCPI president and CEO Frederick D. Ong said the issuance of safety seal certification to all its plants signifies the company’s uncompromising commitment to the health and safety of its employees and business partners.
