Imagine taking your financial journey for a test drive. With Sun Life’s new game, Play for Life: A Game of Choices, launching in June 2024, you can do just that. This Financial Independence Month, Sun Life is offering activities to boost financial literacy among Filipinos through fun games.
Play for Life is a free, single-player online game that mimics real-life financial decisions. The goal is to reach your chosen life goals through smart financial choices while facing various challenges.
Players start by setting their life goals and picking a career character. They roll dice to move across a board, landing on spaces that offer opportunities (“Life Wins”), challenges (“Life Happens”), or financial decisions (“Life Choices”). Players use their funds strategically to win.
You win by saving enough play money to achieve your life goal, mirroring real-life financial planning.
For a more interactive experience, a life-size version of Play for Life will travel to select locations. Play on giant boards and make choices at SM Megamall (June 22 to 23, 2024), SM Sta. Rosa (July 27 to 28, 2024), and more. The launch partners with Talon Esports, a top gaming group. There will also be tabletop versions for playing with friends, family, and Sun Life advisors.

Financial Independence Month is Sun Life’s annual campaign, encouraging financial preparedness at all life stages. Started in 2015, it aims to make Independence Day more personal by focusing on a brighter future.
“Financial freedom starts with a choice,” said Carla Gonzalez-Chong, chief client experience and marketing officer of Sun Life Philippines.
“That’s why we’re launching Play for Life: A Game of Choices. We want to help Filipinos make informed financial decisions,” Gonzalez-Chong also said. By making financial literacy fun and accessible, “we hope to empower people to take control of their future with confidence.”
