SM Development Corporation pledged ₱100 million over three years to the National Museum, strengthening its commitment to cultural heritage preservation beyond its real estate developments.

The investment will fund structural improvements and conservation initiatives at the museum, ensuring future generations can access and appreciate the country’s rich history.

At SMDC, we have always believed that beyond building our developments, we have a responsibility to create spaces that inspire, uplift, and enrich lives,” said Grace M. Sta. Ana, SMDC Executive Vice President and Head of Core Operations. “Through this partnership with the National Museum of the Philippines, we reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding and promoting Filipino heritage.”

SMDC’s cultural preservation efforts align with its strategic property developments in the MOA Complex and along Roxas Boulevard. These Bayside Living communities provide residents with convenient access to key cultural institutions including the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Intramuros, Rizal Park, and the National Museum Complex.

The company aims to integrate culture into modern urban living by creating communities that transcend traditional residential spaces. Its developments serve as platforms for artistic expression, education, and heritage appreciation, supporting a vision where historical richness and future innovation coexist.

Through this multi-year commitment, SMDC is setting a new benchmark for corporate engagement in cultural preservation, demonstrating that real estate development and heritage conservation can go hand in hand,” Sta. Ana added. “By supporting museums, exhibitions, and educational programs, SMDC is helping ensure that Filipino heritage remains relevant and accessible for generations to come.”

SM Supermalls will amplify this initiative through its extensive network, promoting cultural awareness and accessibility. Its dedicated marketing efforts will expand the reach of the National Museum’s programs, exhibitions, and educational initiatives to engage more Filipinos with their national heritage.

The partnership reflects SMDC’s vision of enriched urban living that fosters deeper appreciation for culture while creating inspired, connected communities where residents can experience both modern amenities and historical significance.
