The Skydome at SM City North EDSA transformed into a major recruitment hub as the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP) held its Career Summit 2025 in partnership with SM Supermalls, DICT, DOLE, and QC PESO.
About 25 companies from healthcare information management and IT-BPM industries participated, interviewing around 1,000 job seekers. The Skydome venue gave employers direct access to young talents eager for digital and tech-enabled roles that drive industry growth and boost the Philippine economy.
HIMAP President Vincent Remo underscored the summit’s impact on nation-building by “changing lives and uplifting communities,” thanking SM Supermalls for making opportunities more accessible. DICT’s Jeehad Tanggol added that the initiative supports the agency’s goal of creating millions of digital jobs, committing to “continue providing job fairs to Filipinos across the country.”
As a sector employing 190,000 professionals nationwide and generating USD 4.2 billion in 2024, HIMAP showcased alternative career paths for medical and healthcare professionals beyond bedside work by opening doors to globally in-demand healthcare information management careers.
Accessible Opportunities
For job seekers, accessibility was crucial. “It’s MRT-friendly and very organized,” shared applicant Ben Francis Rances from Marikina City. Fresh graduate Sophia Joyce Serrano added: “I realized my medical background can open doors in other industries. Thanks to the career talks, I’m more confident about building the career I want.”
The event welcomed Senior High School students from San Francisco High School through DepEd, who joined career talks and explored part-time opportunities. Teacher Anna Jamille Restupo shared: “This opens doors for our students and helps teachers connect with partners who can prepare learners for future careers.”
Beyond recruitment, the summit featured career talks and lectures guiding applicants exploring new paths. It represents one of many sectoral job fairs hosted by SM Supermalls, designed to link industries with aligned talent pools and showcase SM as a hub for large-scale, tech-driven career events.
