As the 2025 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) approach this December, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has partnered with SM Supermalls to bring voter registration directly to Filipino communities. From August 1-10, 2025, 46 SM establishments nationwide will serve as official satellite registration hubs, offering convenient 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM registration hours.
This initiative builds on proven success. During the May 2025 National and Local Elections, SM hosted over 37,000 voters across 20 malls, achieving an impressive 81% turnout—the highest among venue partners.
“We’re proud to offer more than just convenience—we’re creating a platform for inclusive civic engagement,” said Steven Tan, President of SM Supermalls.
Enhanced accessibility for all Filipinos
Mall-based registration eliminates common barriers to civic participation. Voters, particularly senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant women, can register in air-conditioned comfort with spacious walkways, dining options, and secure environments—no more long lines under the sun or difficult commutes.
