On June 12, 2025, SM Supermalls’ Kalayaan Job Fairs transformed Independence Day celebrations into career-changing opportunities, attracting 18,065 job seekers across 28 malls nationwide.
Organized in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the nationwide hiring event featured 1,034 participating employers—an 11% increase from last year. More than 2,300 jobseekers were hired on the spot, instantly changing their career trajectories.
The 2025 job fairs showed remarkable growth with 12% more participating malls and continued breaking barriers for inclusive hiring, welcoming everyone from fresh graduates to returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
From SM Mall of Asia to SM City General Santos, the job fairs ensured every region had access to local and international employment opportunities. Beyond job placements, the events provided comprehensive government services through the Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
“Kalayaan is not just about history; it’s about rewriting your story. Every Curriculum Vitae (CV) dropped and every hand shaken at this job fair was a bold declaration of hope,” said SM Supermalls President Steven Tan.
The Kalayaan Job Fair represents part of SM Supermalls’ larger mission to provide consistent employment platforms. The company continues hosting monthly job fairs across its malls in partnership with DOLE and various government agencies.
