Philippine Postal, SM partnership

The Philippine Postal Corporation (Post Office) and SM Mart Inc. will bring the post office closer to shoppers when SM Makati’s newly renovated Servicio opens this November. Shoppers will then be able to mail letters and express packages, buy stamps and other philatelic products, apply for Postal ID, send electronic Postal Money Orders, postal cards and so much more conveniently and quickly.

SM’s Servicio is one of the largest and most extensive over the counter one-stop shops offering customer convenience for bills payments, foreign exchange and remittances, government services, and more in the country.  SM Makati Servicio will be the Post Office’s 18th site inside SM.

Aid to Paeng victims

At the onset of tropical storm Paeng, Save the Children immediately deployed humanitarian response teams on October 28 to conduct rapid assessment on impacted areas in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol, Eastern Samar, Panay Island and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

In Maguindanao, Save the Children’s response teams were on the ground assessing the situation and needs of children and families.  Save the Children’s response teams in Luzon and Visayas, along with teams from civil society organization partners, are currently monitoring and responding to the urgent needs of the affected families and children.

Save the Children is readying the immediate dispatch of prepositioned relief items. These include plastic sheets that can be used as temporary shelters to displaced families, vital household items and family hygiene kits to prevent the spread of diseases, school supplies for children and teachers, and temporary learning spaces to safely resume classes.

Delkor Batteries: Powering Progress

AP Blue Whale Corporation chief operations officer (COO) Ronald Ang is bringing Delkor Batteries to Philippine roads.

EastWest  JCB partnership

East West Banking Corp. and JCB International Co. Ltd. have recently sealed a partnership for the launch of the new EastWest JCB Credit Card.

The signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) was recently held at the Hotel Okura Manila and was witnessed by officials from both institutions.

EastWest was headed by vice chairman and CEO Antonio  Moncupa Jr. and president Jacqueline S. Fernandez. The JCB team was headed by president and COO Yoshiki Kaneko.

Through the partnership, both EastWest and JCB would be able to deliver a world-class level of care and satisfaction to customers in the Philippines  with EastWest JCB Gold Credit Card and EastWest JCB Platinum Credit Card.

Customers get rewards and savings, earn and accumulate reward points and redeem them for airline miles, cash rebate, or annual membership fee waiver.

First DOH- accredited cancer specialty center

The Department of Health (DOH) has announced Makati Medical Center’s (MakatiMed) Cancer Center as the country’s first DOH Accredited Cancer Specialty Center in a General Hospital.

The accreditation was based on the cancer center’s use of a multi-disciplinary approach to treating and managing the disease, the board-certified and highly trained oncology doctors, nurses and support staff manning the center, and ensuring that the latest cancer care technologies and modalities are available to patients.

The Cancer Center has long been touted as one of MakatiMed’s centers of excellence, providing topnotch treatment and compassionate, quality patient care. A one-stop-shop, the center is composed of an Adult and Pediatric Ambulatory Infusion Units, a self-contained Pharmacy Unit, research and conference rooms for multidisciplinary meetings, and consultation rooms and a Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.

GBF celebrates 30 years

The Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) recently kicked off its 30th anniversary celebration, highlighting its thrust of promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in the Philippines.

“With our common goal of making lives better, GBF creates meaningful breakthroughs in the field of education,” said Lance Gokongwei, GBF chairman, and head of the Gokongwei Group.

Among these programs is the STEM Scholarship for Excellence, given to underprivileged and deserving STEM college students from centers of excellence. 82% of graduates go on to work at Gokongwei Group companies.

Iskolar ni Juan, housed at GBF’s Technical Training Center in Laguna, is a one-year tech-voc training for disadvantaged SHS graduates. Iskolar ni Juan beneficiaries are offered employment at Universal Robina Corp. after the program.

Security Bank named  top employer

Security Bank Corp. emerged as the top local bank for employment at the recently released 2023 Philippines’ Best Employers survey led by Statista, the world’s leading data and business intelligence portal.

The ranking comes from a comprehensive research project that evaluated the responses of thousands of employees in the Philippines from various industries ranging from manufacturing, FMCG, e-commerce, to banking and finance. Shinagawa launches diagnostic center

 Shinagawa Lasik & Aesthetics announces its first-of-its-kind Japanese standard diagnostic center, focusing on advanced preventive and overall medical care for the public.

The Shinagawa Diagnostic and Preventive Care Center is set to open in the first quarter of 2023 at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The Shinagawa Diagnostic and Preventive Care Center will be operating under a separate subsidiary of the Shinagawa Healthcare Solutions Corp. (SHSC), specializing in advanced yet affordable preventive treatment for its patients.

The diagnostic center is expected to include the Philips MR 5300 which will be the country’s first helium-free MRI Technology. Run Ortigas 2022
