SM Cares sensory-friendly screening

SM Cares welcomed back to its mall its partners from the Autism Society Philippines (ASP) for the sensory-friendly screening of the movie “Lightyear” in SM North Edsa.

The Lights Up, Sound Down project, supported by SM Cinema and Press Play Pictures Philippines Inc., gives opportunity for individuals with autism to enjoy watching movies in a safe and accepting environment.

The Lights Up, Sounds Down Sensory-Friendly Screening is just one of the many programs of SM Cares that caters to the PWD sector. The event also supports the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, particularly “SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being”, and “SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.”

RCBC wins big at Asia Trailblazer Awards

Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC)  hauled eight banking awards including the Philippines’ Best Retail Bank at the Retail Banker International Trailblazer Awards held last June 23.

The Retail Banker International (RBI) Trailblazer also recognized RCBC’s Retail Banking Group (RBG) as the Winner for Excellence in Mass Affluent Banking and ‘Highly Commended’ for Best Savings Plan Offering. The RCBC’s Digital Enterprise and Innovation Group (DEIG) won the Best CSR Initiative, Best Advance for Leading a Crisis, and ‘Highly Commended’ awards for Best Marketing Campaign, Best Content Marketing, and Best Advance in Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives.

RCBC Bankard won the Best Credit Card Initiative.

RCBC’s Digital Enterprise and Innovation Group (DEIG) won Best Advance for Leading Under a Crisis and Best CSR Initiative as demonstrated by its online banking app, RCBC Digital, ATM-Go  and its financial inclusion super app, Diskartech, for its financial literacy efforts. It also received the Best Marketing Campaign, Best Content Marketing, and Best Advance in Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives high commendations for its pioneering digital campaigns.

The award for Best CSR Initiative is through the group’s ‘Madiskarteng Pilipino Financial Education Campaign’.

Some strategies of the campaign include ‘Pisonomics’ podcast, DiskarTechTV, and ‘Utang ni Tatang’ digital ad. These campaigns merited highly commended for Best Marketing Campaign and Best Content Marketing.

The RBI Trailblazer Awards recognized RCBC as the Winner in Excellence in Mass Affluent Banking for its Hexagon Club.

RCBC’s OneAccount earned the ‘Highly Commended’ award for Best Savings Plan Offering.

ABAC to hold public-private dialogue

The APEC Business Advisory Council’s (ABAC) Regional Economic Integration Working Group (REIWG) on Strengthening Services Trade and Investment will be conducting a public-private dialogue on July 12 featuring global thought leaders to exchange insights and best practices on the emerging trends and opportunities in the services space.

Centered on the theme ‘Sharpening Your Edge: Skills & Services for the 21st Century,’ the discussion will tackle the increasingly digital-enabled service deliveries and how it affects the future of the workplace as well as the capabilities of the workforce.

Moderating the forum will be Prof. Jane Drake-Brockman, founder and director of the Australian Services Roundtable, co-convenor of the Asia Pacific Services Coalition, and a key figure in the development of the APEC Services Competitiveness Roadmap.

The program, to be hosted by Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar, AEV chief reputation & sustainability officer, will feature two panels consisting of global leaders from the public and private sector, as well as the academe.

Health Secure

Home Credit Philippines (HCPH) launched Health Secure with COVID-19 coverage.

This latest addition to Home Credit Protect’s wide array of products reiterates the company’s commitment to advocating proactive measures to keep its customers safe and protected.

Health Secure offers protection not only for personal accidents resulting in dismemberment, disability and death but also for COVID-19-related complications, including vaccine side effects. For only P1,212, one can get 12 months of comprehensive COVID-19 coverage, which can easily be availed through the My Home Credit app and paid through Home Credit Pay.

This latest addition to HCPH’s protection initiatives offers P200,000 for coma cases, P20,000 for medical expenses and P500 per day for hospitalization for a maximum of 30 days. It also offers P30,000 that covers personal accidents.

Health Secure is also one of the very few insurance plans offering protection against the FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine side effects covering P100,000 for coma cases, P10,000 for medical expenses and up to P1,000 per day for hospitalization for a maximum of 14 days.

UBX, Post Office tie-up

UBX has teamed up with the Philippine Postal Corp. (Post Office) to launch Kasama Lahat, a capacity development project which will transform the country’s premier postal agency into a modern hub that offers financial and data services for everyone in the community.

Under the partnership, UBX will provide the necessary technical knowledge in digital finance and open finance to hasten the Post Office’s digital transformation journey. Through the Bangko sa Barangay Service of UBX, the Post Office will be able to transform thousands of its outlets nationwide into financial hubs, offering various types of services such as disbursements, fund transfers, cash withdrawals, loan applications, payments, insurance, and collections, among others.

The Philippine Post Office has approximately over 1,300 outlets across the country.

The partnership will also empower postmen to become cash agents.

Kasama Lahat aims to establish Post Office as Open Finance Hubs, which can process data transactions as well, such as validation of customer information for loan applications, asset validation, and even collection or debt restructuring services.

Volkswagen’s BGC showroom

Volkswagen Philippines showcased its new home at the recently-inaugurated AC Motors Centrale in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. EY startup incubator program

The EY organization has announced the winning startup participants accepted into EY Foundry Cohort 5.

The EY Foundry program will be run virtually and will include startups across Asia-Pacific including Australia, Cambodia, Guam, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

The 16 startups in this year’s program were chosen based on their ability to provide disruptive technologies and solutions.

Philippine startups in the roster include  Olivia App,  an expense management solution that allows the user to scan invoices and dictate expenses, eliminating the need for manual encoding and Betterteem, a n AI-powered workplace solution that predicts employee churn, delivers well-being support and strengthens team engagement.

Beginning July and for a period of six months, the startups in Cohort 5 will participate in a range of activities that will give participants the tools to accelerate growth and expand their customer base.

Nursing career dev’t program

Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) has added  Netherlands-based employment agency OTTO Work Force to its roster of global partners for its Nursing Development Program.

The parties signed an agreement last June 27.

CSMC’s Nursing Development Program was created in line with the hospital’s mission of providing world-class training to its medical practitioners.

The program’s goal is to give Caring Cardinal nurses opportunities to gain international experience and become globally competitive professionals.

The health innovation landscape in the Netherlands boasts of state-of-the-art advancements that are recognized by global institutions.
