LWUA to open field offices soon

Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Administrator Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong announced that the agency is expanding its operations beyond its headquarters in the national capital to make its services more accessible to the people.

According to Mamondiong, LWUA will begin opening satellite offices across the country with mobile water treatment vehicles beginning this month. He stated that six field offices were in the pipeline, with the one in Davao City set to be launched on March 8.

“This will make LWUA more responsive and immediately accessible to those in the countryside,” he explained. “They don’t have to fly to Manila for needed assistance, especially during times of calamity.”

The LWUA chief added that all the field offices would be manned by LWUA personnel, headed by a licensed civil engineer. Each office would craft plans and programs in collaboration with the Regional Development Council (RDC). It is also responsible for monitoring and supervising the performance of water districts under its jurisdiction.

Mamondiong added that after Davao City, field offices would be established in Lucena City (Quezon), San Fernando (La Union), Tacloban City, Cagayan de Oro City and Bicol. The field offices will cover respective regions, from Region I to the BARMM.

He said that LWUA would need the full cooperation of the local government units as well as other government agencies like the Department of Agrarian Reform and the Department of Public Works and Highways.

One SRP for Land Cruiser

Toyota Motor Phlippines (TMP) is not requiring additional premiums for reservations for and purchases of the recently launched Land Cruiser 300 (LC300)

TMP said production of the new LC300 was not spared by the global parts supply shortage in the manufacturing sector caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has further contributed to the imbalance in supply and demand for this highly anticipated model.

Global demand for the continued to grow, causing longer waiting time for fans in the country.

TMP meanwhile reiterated that under its ‘One Suggested Retail Price Nationwide’ program, customers should expect consistent pricing whether they buy in Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, or Mindanao.

Epson introduces the HyFlex Classroom

Epson has introduced the HyFlex Classroom setup, a hybrid-flexible classroom designed to accommodate the simultaneous teaching of in-person and online learners by reflecting real-time changes directly on the screen.

It works by having interactive projectors flash learning materials on the classroom’s whiteboard, screen, or wall, allowing teachers to use them as visuals, and to freely annotate on the projected content to further explain them.

The teacher can see and monitor the students at home using a secondary projection (optional set up) at the back of the classroom. Meanwhile, students on site can connect their laptops to the main interactive projector to view and annotate on their own screen using the annotation feature of the video conferencing app — seeing real-time changes and annotations projected on the screen.

To maximize the potential and features of this setup, Epson recommends the use of Epson’s full line of products — from the interactive projector, ELPDC21 document camera, multifunction printer, and an optional entry-level projector.
