Shopee recognizes 100 top sellers

Shopee recently recognized 100 of its most talented live sellers who worked tirelessly to unlock growth for their businesses during the Shopee Live Seller Awards.

During the awards ceremony, Shopee representatives shared the upcoming Shopee Live plans for 2023. Awardees were recognized for their efforts in driving orders, live streaming consistently, performing during campaigns, and more. Categories for this year’s Shopee Live Seller Awards included Shopee Live Superstar, Rising Star Award, Shopee Live Spotlight Awardee, Campaign Streamer Awardee, Everyday Streamer Awardee, and the Top 100 sellers.

Live Seller Awardees Ian, Cecille, and Jeff shared how they were able to grow their businesses and find success with Shopee Live.

Ian was given the Everyday Streamer Awardee, for incorporating live selling into his daily routine through his online store vheryniceshop.

Cecille, owner of Cilebritee_shop, bagged the title of Top 1 Shopee Live Seller, in addition to receiving the Shopee Live Superstar Award, the Campaign Award, and the Spotlight Award.

Jeff, owner of Shopupp2, was a recipient of the Shopee Live Superstar Award and the Shopee Live Spotlight Award.

Cebu Pacific ready to Fly Every Juan to Taiwan

Cebu Pacific encourages every Juan to fly to Taiwan now and experience its vibrant night markets and delicious street food as the COVID-19 protocols for inbound travelers have been eased.

CEB currently flies the Manila-Taipei — Manila route daily, allowing every Juan to visit the much-missed destination known for its bubble tea and dim sum dishes any day they want.

Filipino tourists can travel to Taiwan visa-free until July 31 and can stay for up to 14 days.

Travelers are no longer required to present a negative COVID-19 test result and proof of vaccination prior to arrival to Taiwan. However, those who test positive before their visit need to defer their flights for at least five days from their test date.

Top employer

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, started 2023 on a positive note with the achievement of Asia Pacific Top Employer 2023 for the ninth consecutive year. Additionally, the Top Employer Institute also awarded 10 countries and territories across the region the Top Employer certification. These include Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Top Employers Institute certifies organizations on their people practices so that these companies can assess and improve their workplace environment. To be a certified top employer, companies participate in an independently audited HR Best Practices Survey, and are evaluated in 20 categories, ranging from business and people strategy, digitalization, employee wellbeing, career and learning opportunities to diversity and inclusion as well as sustainability.

DHL Express also wrapped up 2022 with more than 50 HR awards won by individual national companies. These include recognitions for workplaces celebrating diversity while creating a positive and happy environment.

Entravision MediaDonuts, ShopBack tie-up

Entravision MediaDonuts has signed a partnership agreement with ShopBack, the leading shopping and rewards platform in Asia-Pacific, to sell the brand’s premium online ad placements to brand advertisers in 10 different markets in the region.

“ShopBack has tremendously grown over the past two years. With presence in over 10 APAC markets, we are optimistic that brand interest will continue to grow,” Prashant Kala, APAC general manager for Advertising Sales, said.

Hedcor improves Tribal Halls of IPs in Bukidnon

Hedcor, a hydropower company and subsidiary of AboitizPower Corp. (AboitizPower), strengthened its ties with the indigenous peoples (IP) groups of the Province of Bukidnon by helping renovate their tribal halls as a place of convergence and collaboration.

In separate ceremonies held recently, Hedcor turned over the reconditioned tribal halls to various IP groups in the province, specifically the Lumikapaw Ka Guihean Tribal Council of Elders in Barangay Guihean, Municipality of Impasugong; Guilang-Guilang Apo Datu Nanikunan Association Inc. in Barangay Guilang-Guilang; Santiago Tribal Community (SANTRICO), Inc. in Barangay Santiago; and Impakibel, Apo Man Asilan Tribal Association in Barangay Maluko, Municipality of Manolo Fortich.

“This is where all the plans for the IP communities will be created, this is where the tribe’s future lies and which the people can call their own,” Hedcor president and COO Rolando Pacquiao said, underscoring the importance of the structure in preserving the tribe’s culture.

The newly refurbished tribal halls will serve as a venue for the tribes’ gatherings, meetings and learnings among many other functions. Its design depicts an architectural style that’s traditional and goes according to the needs of the indigenous tribes.

P&G Ph certified as Great Place To Work

Procter & Gamble (P&G) Philippines was Certifiedâ„¢ as a great workplace by Great Place To Work (GPTW), the global authority that sets benchmarks, standards, and executive advisory that allows organizations to be recognized for their outstanding workplace culture.

This is P&G Philippines’ first GPTW Certification, earning an average employee satisfaction rating of 94 percent among surveyed employees. The survey showed that 97 percent of P&G employees consider the company a great place to work overall, and 98 percent are proud to tell others they work for P&G.  All of the respondents also said that they are treated fairly regardless of their race, gender, and sexual orientation.

Sun Life Grepa intends to make its products and services more accessible in the digital landscape.

With the launch of Sun Life Grepa Healthcare TeleConsult, Group Medical members may now consult with doctors in the comfort of their own homes. Sun Life Grepa also enhanced its online servicing (via Facebook Messenger and Facebook FAQ tab) to include semi-automated requests for LOA (Letter of Authorization) Issuance and Teleconsult.

The company is set to implement enhancements to better serve the clients through the comprehensive Medical Provider Locator. It aims to provide real-time information on the HIP (Health Insurance Partner) partner hospitals, clinics and doctors nearest the Group Medical members.

For the love of art

Art and culture hub Shangri-La Plaza partners with ArtPh for its first-ever in-person group art exhibit SIBOL at the East Atrium from February 5 to 15.

Curated by ArtPh co-founders art collector Lori Jurvida and television personality Christine Bersola-Babao, SIBOL presents the works of both emerging and established artists. The exhibit features hyperrealist works from young and talented artists from various provinces like Neill Christian Simon Onza, a Cagayan-based artist who went viral for his contemporary take on Juan Luna’s Spoliarium; Nestor Abayon, Jr., from Occidental Mindoro who earned praises for his painting of his farmer dad; and Jarren Dahan, a North Cotabato artist and a Fine Arts student at University Of Mindanao who garnered attention also for his paintings of his farmer parents.

Other artists joining SIBOL are Eloy Muñoz who already had a previous sold out solo online exhibit with ArtPh called Kamay, and Sonny III Tolentino, known for his cityscapes and landscapes of his hometown Iloilo. Award-winning contemporary artist Ted Peñaflor IV is also part of the exhibit with his surreal images featuring clouds and nature on canvas

ArtPh, started as an online fundraising auction, aims to support Filipino artists by making their work more accessible to art collectors and enthusiasts here and globally through online auctions and exhibits. Its other two founders are broadcast journalist Julius Babao and motivational speaker and wealth coach Chinkee Tan.

Lalamove Automotive partners with QSJ Motors

Lalamove Automotive and QSJ Motors Philippines  Inc. recently inked their partnership for Lalamove’s newest Vehicle Rental Program.

The program offers existing and future Lalamove partner drivers and fleet operators with a host of options to rent or rent-to-own a vehicle, enabling them to start their profitable delivery business with Lalamove.

The partnership was formalized in a memorandum of agreement signing ceremony at the QSJ Motors office in Angeles City. Present were  Lalamove Automotive general operations manager Jeff Balanga and Kim Yuan Jiang, owner of QSJ Motors.
