Ajinomoto Co., Inc., along with the entire Ajinomoto Group, remains dedicated to forging a healthier and more sustainable future.
With firm plans in place leading up to 2030, the company aims to champion the improvement of environmental health and human wellness.
Addressing critical food and health issues while enhancing customer value, Ajinomoto strives to promote a healthy lifestyle, aspiring to increase the life expectancy of one billion people globally.
A testament to Ajinomoto’s commitment is the exemplary leadership of its president and chief executive officer Taro Fujie. During his recent visit to Quezon City, Philippines, a media forum provided a platform for dialogue.
Fujie shared insights into the Ajinomoto Group’s Medium-Term ASV Management and 2030 Strategic Roadmap. In his address, Fujie reiterated Ajinomoto’s core purpose: to contribute to the well-being of humanity, society, and the planet through “AminoScience.”
The company aims to reduce its environmental impact by 50 percent, regenerate the environment, and improve the health and life expectancy of one billion people.
True to its corporate slogan, “Eat Well, Live Well,” Ajinomoto remains steadfast in creating value, championing innovation, and engaging in social contribution.
Rooted in its founding principles, Ajinomoto promotes management that co-creates social and economic value through ASV, the Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value initiative.
“2030 is closer than we think, but it is my honor to share that we, the Ajinomoto Group, remain enthusiastic in our pursuit of societal betterment. We share every milestone with you, our companions in this journey,” stated Fujie.
Fujie also outlined expectations for APC, expressing confidence in APC’s ability to meet them. APC is expected to continue resolving social issues for the well-being of Filipinos, society, and the planet, while diversifying its business from seasonings to frozen foods, supplements, and beyond.
“It is my pleasure and honor to meet you all today, Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation. I am certain you will cultivate an environment where employees remain diverse, highly motivated, and engaged,” concluded Fujie.
Earlier in the day, Fujie and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte discussed sustainability and community development through the Saricycle Program of APC. Fujie also visited a participating sari-sari store in Feria Road, Old Balara, Quezon City, gaining firsthand experience.
Innovation and collaboration pave the road to a more sustainable tomorrow.
Recently, APC partnered with stakeholders, including the Local Government of Quezon City and Basic Environmental Systems and Technologies, for the SariCycle Program. This initiative incentivizes sari-sari stores and market stalls to collect Single-Use Plastics or Flexible Plastics from customers, exchanging them for Environmental Points, equivalent to cash.
Additionally, APC partnered with ACEN Res, enabling its Bulacan factory to run on 100 percent renewable energy, aiming to reduce its environmental footprint.
