Security Bank was again recognized by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) for its excellence in corporate governance–awarding the Bank with three golden arrows at a ceremony held in Sheraton Manila.

The bank received the recognition after scoring 103.32 at the 2021 Asean Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS). A three-arrow recognition is given to publicly listed companies who achieve a score of 100-109 on the scorecard.

ACGS is an assessment based on international best practices in corporate governance. The rigorous methodology was developed by experts across the region to assess the corporate governance standing and performance of publicly listed companies in six participating Asean member countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

As the bank strengthens its journey to become the most customer-centric bank in the Philippines, it remains committed to upholding, improving, and deepening its corporate governance framework and practices that have been continuously recognized by various award-giving bodies.

Jane de Leon in new Chicken Inasal campaign

Mang Inasal kicks off its year-long 20th anniversary celebration with a new Chicken Inasal campaign highlighting the product’s unique ihaw-sarap taste and big serving. 

The new campaign is topbilled by fast-rising star Jane de Leon who will also appear in a TV commercial enjoying the 2-in-1 sa Laki, Tagos ang Ihaw-Sarap Chicken Inasal.

For 20 years now, Mang Inasal has been the go-to brand for Filipinos who want delicious and satisfying Ihaw-Sarap food and Unli-Saya experience. On top of their favorites is the flagship Mang Inasal product, Chicken Inasal, which they enjoy with unli-rice.

Primehomes tops off two Laselva Towers, eyes occupancy within the year

Primehomes, an urban botanical community in Capitol Hills, tops off two new towers in its Laselva phase. Towers 4 and 5 of the Primehomes community, Dahlia and Albizia were constructed within a span of one year, allowing their readiness for occupancy within the year.

“These two buildings are products of resiliency, optimism, hard work, dedication, and commitment of everyone,” said Primehomes president and chief operating officer Lemuel B. Dionisio in his speech at the topping off ceremony.

Veterans Bank WWII Exhibit at Manila City Hall now open to the public

Philippine Veterans Bank continues to honor the legacy of Filipino World War II veterans with the display of its multi-awarded traveling exhibit at the Manila City Hall as part of the City of Manila’s commemoration activities for the 78th Anniversary of the Battle for Manila during World War II. 

The Exhibit is located at the 2nd Floor of the Bulwagang Rodriguez of the Manila City Hall, and is open to the public free-of-charge until February 15. 

Manila City Mayor Maria Sheilah H.  Lacuna along with PVB Chairman Roberto De Ocampo, OBE view the PVB Exhibit “War of our Fathers.”

Titled “War of Our Fathers: A Brotherhood of Heroes”, the PVB Traveling Exhibit features photos, images, memorabilia, and brief narratives about World War II in the Philippines, it also serves as a tribute to the bravery, patriotism, and resolve of the Filipino men and women who fought and died for freedom as well as those who survived one of the darkest chapters of our nation’s history. 

In time for the anniversary of the Battle for Manila, the War of Our Fathers exhibit features eight (8) panels depicting World War II in the City of Manila, including scenes and narratives during the month-long Battle for Manila from February to March of 1945. 

The Exhibit was formally opened to the public last February 3 by Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah H.  Lacuna along with PVB Chairman Roberto De Ocampo, OBE, and PVB President Renato A. Claravall, along with other city & PVB officials, heads of the Diplomatic Corps, and other guests.

GMEA@10 introduces I-GCashMo Award

The Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA) announces the addition of the I-GCashMo Award to its list of categories for 2023. 

With its mission to provide finance for all, GCash continuously expands its services to offer GInvest, GLoans, GSave and more to the largely unbanked population.

The award is open to all forms of media, including print, television, radio, and digital. To qualify, entries must have been published from January 15, 2022 onwards and meet the following requirements: 

  • For Digital: Formatted article in PDF or DOC, screen capture and URL of the article on the website, and supplementary photos/graphics in JPEG
  • For Print: Formatted article in PDF or DOC and high-resolution copy of the published story in PDF or JPEG
  • For TV: Report in MP4 format with transcript in PDF or DOC and certificate of airing
  • For Radio: Report in MP3 format with transcript in PDF or DOC and certificate of airing
  • Proof of social impact
  • Actions by stakeholders in response to the story (in-screen captures, links, and/or with documents to support, if applicable)
  • Link and screen capture of social media posts with proof of engagement (reactions, likes, comments, etc.)
  • Privacy setting of posts must be set to PUBLIC

Submission of entries is until February 15. Winners will be announced at the awards night in Cebu in the first half of the year. GMEA@10 I-GCashMo Awardees in Visayas and Mindanao will receive P25,000 each.

Philcement plant receives 3 ISO certifications

Philcement Corp. (PCC) received 3 ISO certifications for its Mariveles cement processing plant, underscoring its adherence to global standards.

The ISO certifications are testament to PCC’s commitment to making lives better, by ensuring consistent operations that result in quality cement offerings while maintaining a safe and sustainable workplace, said Philcement president and CEO Eduardo Sahagun.

After an audit by TUV NORD Philippines, the Bataan facility was awarded the following certifications on February 1:  ISO 9001: 2015, Quality Management System;  ISO 45001:2018, Occupational Health and Safety Management System; and  ISO 14001:2015, Environment Management System.
