President Marcos Jr. visits General Santos Fish Port Complex to support Filipino fisherfolk

TAMBLER, GENERAL SANTOS CITY  – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the General Santos Fish Port Complex on Friday, July 4, to assess the situation of fisherfolk and engage with stakeholders in the fishing industry.

During his visit, the President witnessed the unloading, weighing, and quality inspection of tuna for export, underscoring the administration’s commitment to support the sector and enhance the livelihoods of Filipino fisherfolk.

As part of the visit, President Marcos led the distribution of fish aggregating devices, boats, and fish processing equipment to help increase income opportunities for fisherfolk and ensure that their hard work yields better incomes.

The visit highlights the administration’s dedication to strengthening the fishing industry and improving the economic conditions of Filipino fisherfolk communities.
