The Philippine Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA), the leading voice of the local pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, marks its 75th founding anniversary today – September 30, 2025.
Founded in 1950 by ten gentlemen and one lady, PPMA has grown into a dynamic association of 65 corporate members and 3 individual members, steadfast in its mission to uplift pharmaceutical manufacturing standards in the country.
Over seven decades, PPMA has been instrumental in advancing local pharmaceutical research and technology, promoting indigenous raw materials, partnering with government and medical professionals to improve healthcare delivery, and strengthening industry policies through advocacy.
PPMA’s history reflects resilience and growth—from shaping industry policy in the 1950s and civic initiatives in the 1970s to global benchmarking through international plant tours in recent years. The association has launched scholarship programs, conducted nationwide medical outreach missions, and held seminars aligned with global best practices.
This year’s celebration welcomes new members Distribution Solutions Philippines Inc. and Quinosil Laboratory Inc., reinforcing the association’s commitment to growth and collaboration.
“As we celebrate 75 years of united progress, PPMA remains a trailblazer and steadfast guardian of the industry’s ideals. With gratitude for our past and resolve for the future, we renew our commitment to championing excellence, innovation, and public service,” the PPMA Board said.
The association continues its advocacy for advancing the local pharmaceutical industry—upholding its founding mission while embracing tomorrow’s innovations.
