The local government of Pototan, Iloilo has formally donated a 21,684-square-meter property in Barangay Batuan to the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), supporting the expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program—President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s flagship housing initiative.
The Deed of Donation was signed June 13 at SHFC’s Makati Head Office by President and CEO Federico Laxa and Mayor Rafael Enrique Lazaro, in compliance with Executive Order No. 34 mandating use of idle government land for housing.
The property will house Iwagville Neighborhood Association Inc., featuring nine five-story buildings for over 1,200 low-income families. The project aligns with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development’s vision under Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling to ensure every Filipino has access to safe, decent, affordable housing.
“This Deed of Donation is more than just a legal document—it is a testament to the commitment of the Pototan LGU to uplift the lives of its constituents,” Laxa said. “It brings us one step closer to building not just homes, but inclusive communities where every Filipino can thrive.“
Mayor Lazaro expressed gratitude for the collaboration: “On behalf of the people of Pototan, we are thankful to SHFC for the realization of this project as we wanted a decent housing for low-income earners and this project is a welcome and much-needed development for our community.”
A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding between SHFC, Pototan, and Dynamic Planners and Construction Corporation was also signed, formally launching project development.
The ceremony was attended by SHFC Executive Vice President Atty. Junefe Payot, Support Cluster Vice President Atty. Leo Deocampo, VisMin 4PH Vice President Engr. Felman Gilbang, Treasury Vice President Jason Yap, Dynamic Planners President Carmelo Africa III, and Municipal Administrator Atty. Robert Parcon.
Under the expanded 4PH Program, SHFC continues nationwide housing initiatives including Crystal Peak Estates in San Fernando, Pampanga; People’s Ville in Davao City; and Valley View Township in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
