PlayTime, a leading online entertainment games brand, began construction of its first PlayTime Playground at the Gawad Kalinga Village in Hugo Perez, Cavite. This initiative represents a major project under PlayTime CARES (Community, Action, Relief, Empowerment, and Sustainability), providing safe recreational spaces for children while promoting physical health and community engagement.
Designed with an obstacle course racing setup, the playground will encourage active play and resilience among children in Gawad Kalinga communities, extending PlayTime’s impact beyond digital entertainment.
“We’ve been very blessed and we want to share our blessings. This time, we want to support GK with playgrounds combined with OCR. We hope this will be a great help and make the community happy,” said Jay Sabale, Senior PR Manager for PlayTime.
Mark Gomez, GK Area Team Leader for CALABARZON and NCR Regions, emphasized the playground’s importance: “In a time where digital gadgets have become children’s main instrument for playing, physical activity is very much needed. The PlayTime Playground will help children become more active and aid in their personal growth and development.”
Representatives from PlayTime CARES, Gawad Kalinga, and local community leaders attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
“We at Gawad Kalinga are delighted about this project,” said Vangie Sesma, Gawad Kalinga Partnership Manager. “Now we can say we have a decent and safe playground for kids in our community. This playground will nurture their well-being and creativity.”
PlayTime and Gawad Kalinga plan to expand the initiative with additional playgrounds across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
