A shared belief in service and compassion brought together PlayTime, the country’s most innovative online entertainment platform, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in an initiative that delivered more than just meals—it delivered dignity, hope, and human connection.

Through the “Walang Gutom Kitchen” activation, over 300 vulnerable individuals were served freshly prepared meals in a community shelter, with support from PlayTime and its corporate social responsibility arm, PlayTime CARES. The collaboration reflects meaningful alignment between public service and private initiative.

“This collaboration was born out of a shared desire to uplift others,” said Krizia Cortez, Director of Public Relations at PlayTime. “Through PlayTime CARES, we continue to seek opportunities where our resources and reach can meaningfully support national development goals, and revolutionize how private entities engage with public service. This collaboration is proof that when purpose-driven organizations come together, the results can be immediate and deeply impactful.”

Led by DSWD, the Walang Gutom Kitchen is part of broader government efforts to reduce food insecurity through direct intervention. During PlayTime’s Binibining Pilipinas sponsorship activation, the company designated a charity day where all candidates participated in community engagement, providing unique opportunity to spotlight the Walang Gutom Program and amplify its visibility.

Although centered on a single event, the collaboration underscored potential for future alignment. Both organizations recognize cross-sector engagement value and continue exploring ways to expand impact through mobile kitchens, community outreach, or scalable advocacy campaigns.

“Partnerships for good begin with a shared commitment to serve,” added Cortez. “Our goal through PlayTime CARES has always been to build bridges—between business and government, public service and private action, entertainment and impact.”
