The Philippine Embassy in Spain spearheaded a study tour for Filipino restaurant owners, chefs, and hotel and restaurant workers to Salon Gourmets, Europe’s biggest gastronomy fair.
As part of Philippine Food Month, the Philippine Embassy in Spain organized a study tour to the Salon Gourmets International Food Fair at the expansive IFEMA complex (Institución Ferial de Madrid) on April 24, 2024. Participants included Filipino restaurant owners, chefs, bartenders, and other hotel and restaurant workers.
The program’s objective is to encourage the Filipino community in Madrid to enhance their skills and talents in various aspects of gastronomy and culinary practice in an international setting. This initiative is particularly valuable for those interested in catering not only to fellow Filipinos but also in expanding their businesses or culinary careers in the future.
Nearly twenty individuals signed up for the tour, and the Embassy hopes that many more will join future activities and programs.
The Philippine Embassy thanked the Filipino participants and the Salon Gourmets organizers, who welcomed the group and provided a comprehensive overview of the largest European event for delicatessen products.
