The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) reinforced its commitment to public service through two significant healthcare initiatives in August 2025.
On August 18, PCSO partnered with the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO), Veterans Federation of the Philippines (VFP), Kampilan Peacekeepers Association Inc., and General Santos City’s local government to conduct a free medical mission at Lagao Gymnasium.
Led by Dr. Rouel Aparato and Dr. Juliet Diaz, the PCSO Medical Team served 252 beneficiaries, providing free medical consultations and medicines to 236 patients while conducting electrocardiogram (ECG) procedures for 16 individuals. The mission targeted veterans, retired soldiers, and their families, focusing on senior citizens and vulnerable populations.
“This initiative reflects PCSO’s commitment to public service and its enduring support for those who have served our country,” said Atty. Brian James C. Cuevas, MNSA, head of the Veterans Affairs Division and PVAO Undersecretary Reynaldo Mapagu’s representative.
On August 20, PCSO Directors Jennifer Liongson-Guevara and Imelda Papin led the turnover of medical devices and mobility aids to Lucena City in celebration of “Araw ng Lucena.” Mayor Mark Alcala received the donations comprising 50 wheelchairs, 25 blood pressure monitors, 25 glucometers, 25 nebulizers, 10 pulse oximeters, and 10 thermal scanners.

Both initiatives fall under PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, supporting Filipinos with medical needs, particularly the sick, elderly, and disabled.
